Monitor goes black immediately after waking from sleep, at the same time the power light changes from green to yellow. Image is just visible on black screen when viewed with a torch, After a wait of about a minute, the power can be switched off and on again, and the monitor works as normal. If the power to the monitor has been turned off, when it is turned on again the monitor goes through a cycle: power light goes green, something inside emits a squeaky beep, light goes yellow, waits a few seconds, repeats about 15-20 times, then light stays yellow until the power is switched off and on as above.

Common problem in this model is bad DC filter caps, that will be the first place to look.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor won't wake from sleep!!!!!!!

Sounds like you may have a bad connector. Make sure it fits snugly in the pc and the back of the monitor. If you still get no input try a different connector

My Acer AL2216W monitor this morning went blank. I woke up, turned on pc and went to sleep like an hour more, when I woke up, the screen was black and light orange, as usual, when pc is not used for a...

Go to Control Panel, (top right View Small Icons). Then look for Power Options. On this page, you'll have the option to leave the monitor on. You should also check "Advanced Power Options". Don't be afraid of the word, "Advanced." It only means "customizeable"

If your mouse isn't waking your monitor, try the keyboard's space bar. I found it works better than the mouse at waking a sleeping computer

AOC Monitor says "no signal" and won't wake up!

This monitor refuses to wake up because it cannot find the signal from the computer.

When the light is amber, force the pc to shut down by holding the power button until all lights go off. Then, after about 10 seconds, power the pc back up again.

If this does not start your monitor, unplug all the monitors connections and plug them back in again. These things should reform the connection from the pc to the monitor.

good luck

My ViewsonicVP930b Monitor Suddenly Turns Off

This is a classic VP930 problem.

It is caused by bad capacitors in the power supply circuit.

Open the monitor, and look at the power board. There are six capacitors. Replace the 220uF @ 25V and the 1000uF @ 16V capacitors. I would recommend replacing them with 35V and 25V capacitors respectively.

If the serial number on your monitor starts with Q8H you could also have a bad IC on the main board. Q8 on the main board is an FET in an IC package. If this problem persists solder a wire from the right side to the left side. There is one pin that turns the IC on and off. All the other pins (per side) are soldered together. Do not solder the pin on the left side that is by itself. Just leave it. Solder ALL the other pins on the left to ALL the other pins on the right.

Remember, do this ONLY if the problem persists after replacing the capacitors AND if your serial number starts with Q8H.

Sharp light turns green thern turns yellow screen goes black

it is going into sleep mode, good luck with this.... i am currently asking how to get my hard drive to quite putting my monitor into sleep mode.

although it hasn't worked for me because my screen stays black, one of the options given to me is to try to start in safe mode and then adjust your settings to "never" on the energy/sleep/hibernate mode

some one else suggested that i remove and reseat the video card

hopefully one of those will work for you

LCD monitor goes blank

It appears that the display resolution set in your display properties is out of the range that the LCD can display.

Try this.

Boot to the ENABLE VGA MODE by pressing F8 to get the Windows Boot Menu. If you can get to the desktop, then go to display properties, and see if you can change the resolution to higher settings and maintain video. (If the video blanks out, then it should revert to the previous setting in 15 seconds)

Monitor suddenly goes black

Is this monitor and LCD flat Panel? If so this is due to a bad power supply, an inverter board going bad or LCD backlight bulb blown. When the backlight goes bad it gets just enough power to start up, but when it is on for a long period of time it goes black because the bulb is not stable enough to hold the charge because it is going bad. These bulbs can be changed, but they also can be costly!

ViewSonic Monitor has trouble to wake up after been shut down?

Ok sounds to me like a power supply problem.. this a a fairly common symptom. I suggest that as a temporary fix you set the monitor to NOT turn the power off to the monitor in sleep mode if possible, in your power settings for the monitor.
