Hi Moonbeam - why don't you tell me what format the files are in on your pc, and I'll tell you the easies way to put them in a format and burn a cd. If you have several different formats of a few cds tell me what you have and tell you how to do each of them. I'll make it easy and painless. Thanks.

This one sounds easy
ok lets look at the cd's-r your using are they brand new
and if brand new
then i would say that cd's and dvd's are coming out with new formats so that new cd's dvd's wont play in older equipment

now the other thing could be software and how the files movies or music was put onto the disc sometime software needs upgrade to support files on disc

is cd-r recognized by the dvd player as what i mean does it allow cd-r's to be played on the dvd player is this format supported

How can I burn a CD with a movie file to use on a DVD player?

First of all do you have the right kkind of dvd player?

I have a dvd player that plays DIVX movies, so I use Roxio software and burn a data cd of an avi. file. From my understanding AVI, DIVX, & MP4 can be read as a divx. Make sure you close you secission on the disc or it wont play.

the file tipe is you problem.
dvd player only play avi, mpeg and some mp4.

on your player's screen in the coner it will say what tipe of files it can play.

copy a cd with photos on and see if that player play that.
if it plays your just did something wrong while coping the disc

Dvd player only plays some movies

it might be sevral reasons:
1. Check if region code is the same for movies you playing and DVD player
2. If you using video CDs or copyed DVDs, player might be preventing to playback those kind of discs, due to copyright laws or due to different speed settings for DVD player and discks you using (for intsrance you player can playback DVD/CD+R, and you using DVD/CD-R, or mximum allowed playback speed is 16 you using disk recorded at 24, but this is in case you using burned/copied CD/DVDs)
3. Check it lens is durty. For that use CD/DVD lens cleaning disk
($6 in Walmart, if you are in US)
4. Check if movies you are have the same coloring system, i.e NTSC for US
5. Check CD/DVD for scratches, some DVD players can not playback scratched disks
Please kindly let me know if my information was helpfull for you or you need more info
Good Luck

When I burn DVD's on my computer and play them on my DVD player, it says eject disc-playback feature may not be on this disc. I have played other computer burnt discs with no problems so I know my player...

hello... the solution to your problem is, at least try not to burn the disc with the Roxio software rather use Nero Startsmart essentials 7. the other thing is dont burn under the theme MP3 rather use data...if not download a codec for your player...
