Windows Mobile 6 Won't Boot

I have an HTC TyTN that came with windows mobile 5, which i later upgraded to windows mobile 6 with no problems. Out of nowhere, it froze, and when i tried to do a soft reset, it wouldn't get past the green screen. I tried a hard reset, but no improvement. I tried removing the sim and micro sd cards, and doing another hard reset, but nothing worked.

Any ideas?

Bigsphinx, I too am having the exact same problem on both my phone and my wife's too, about once a month it just locks up then after a soft reset it just gets stuck on the green screen. I called support and they said I just have to do a hard reset, which loses everything :(

So for now I always backup (using PIMBackup) to my SD card for the next time it happens.

Did his help you guys? I suffer from the same problem, with the phone (HTC Oxygen in my case) freezing on the green WM6.1 screen during boot. My current theory is that maybe the phone runs out of space, as I've noticed that consistently before it does this, the phone fails to send text messages - I've turned it off and on again, and hey presto. Many hard resets and patience eventually fixes it but I've really had enough!!!

Check if you coincidently mute the phone. If its not the software then looks like the speaker is bad. Send your HTC TyTN II for repair to Dr. Cell Phone.

How to reload windows mobile 5 on htc tynt?

You need a specialised cable to reload Windows Mobile in the phone. Moreover its isnt publicly available and these cables and OS is given only to the authorised HTC service centers. Generally these cables are connected through the USB or the SIM card slot to the computer and a synchronising software in the computer is used to reload the OS.

You shouldnt need the instalation cd for windows, If you are running xp then you need to download and install active sync from here

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/activesync45.mspx

If you are running vista then active sync wont work you will need to download Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 abailable here

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx

That should take care of your problem
