Question about RCA Lyra RD2765 MP3 Player

RCA Lyra X3000 Burnt out

I have a RCA Lyra X3000 and didnt have the adapter that went with it. So instead I used a universal adapter and I guess i didnt put the right voltage. When i pluged it in I heard a pop and it smelled alittle burnt. I heard that I could possible just replace the battery. Does any one know how I can fix this problem. Maybe some where I could send it to get it fixed. Or maybe all i would have to do is just replace the battery? i couldnt find my lyra on the product list so i just put rd2765 instead.

Your media player needs a professional repair service.

When is use a different power adapter with wrong voltage, the battery charge circuitry is damablowing up on or more internal integrated circuits.

Some times just replacing the damaged devices is necessary, but other times the printed circuit suffer a dmage beyond to be repaired (say that the excessive heat made a hole in the board)

Just a repair center that fixes this RCA model may help you.

Also, you can get your hands in a partially working media player (say a X3000 player with cracked LCD screen) in Ebay, and perfom the repair yourself if you have experience and skills to do it.

RCA repair centers charge $125.00 for such repairs.

RCA Lyra RD2840 Player quit, now will not turn on at all

Unfortunately, the RD2800 Lyra family (RD2825, RD2826 an RD2840) mp3 players have a frequent problem in the battery circuitry, and there are two tiny integrated circuits that are shorted very frequent.

You will need to check the power adapter prior to confirm that the problem is in the RCA mp3 player.

Using a multimeter in DC voltage setting, check the AC power adapter gives a voltage of around 5.0 VDC. If so, then the mp3 player is fried.

The repair involves to opn it, and replace the damaged integrated cicuits. Only a qualified technician with tools and parts cando it.

RCA approved repair centers charge $125.00 for such repair.

If you will look for a cheapest way to fix it, you can contact in ebay to the seller with ID Great_items_2004

Missing or corrupt system files

I suggest you order a new disk and try it before you try any other fixes. The manufacter's disk should have everything you need. Call their service system and have them send you another disk.

Not working at all

The clicking noise is a symptom of a damaged hard drive.

This mean that the only solution is to replace the hard drive.

Your best option is to buy a partially working X3000 media player and use its hard drive to fix the one you have, or have somebody in finding the specific 1.8" 20GB hard drive your mp3 player has, but also such person will need the booting and firmware files to put them in the new hard drive, otherwise it won't work.
