Your best bet would be removing the head unit (stereo) and getting it off the back. Careful not to pull out the wires while removing... Unless you know where to put them back

How To Find Your Radio/Stereo Unlock Code

<span><span>As a security feature, the Radio or Stereo Unlock Code is meant to prevent another person from using the Stock Stereo from your vehicle without proof of ownership of the vehicle. To obtain the Unlock Code for your Radio or Stereo, you will need the title, VIN, proof of insurance, etc. to prove that you own the vehicle or are authorized to Unlock the Stereo using the factory generated code. At the dealership, this should always be a free service, but some dealerships may charge to generate or lookup the Stereo Unlock Code.<br /><br />When you have your Radio Unlock Code, use the Preset Keys to input this code into your Stereo. You should hear a Beep when this code has been entered, this is an Unlock Confirmation. To retrieve your code, try the following suggestions:<br /> <ol> <li>If you have your Service or Owners manual, usually in the Glove compartment, look for the Radio Security Code in there. Usually it is on a White, Credit Card looking card, in the Manual.</li> <li>You can also check on the Sides of the <a href="/../cars/t8671868-unplugged_battery_post#"><span>Glove</span><span> </span><span>box</span></a>, inside and outside, for the Radio Code. It may be on a Sticker. Sometimes you can also find the Code under the Ash tray, on or around the Door Jamb on the door, or on the <a href="/../cars/t8671868-unplugged_battery_post#"><span>vehicle</span></a>, and in the Trunk, or on the bottom of the Trunk Lid.</li> <li>You can also use your VIN in many cases by calling the Dealer Service Department, and they can lookup the Radio Code using the VIN.</li> <li>If all else fails, you will have to remove the Stereo to gain access to the Serial Number. Write this number down and contact your Local Dealership to retrieve the Unlock Code for your Stereo. There is no charge for this.</li></ol></span></span>

How to get security code for your car radio

hi, if you have this problem with your car's radio or entertainment system then the only thing you can do to get this code is by taking your car and owner's documents to your nearest main dealership.

The reason you can only get the code from a main dealership is that the car company's when the fit any entertainment system they have to by law put in security measures to put thieves off targeting your car for the entertainment system. So the car company's don't give anybody else access to this information as a criminal could have stolen your stereo and be able to use it so this code can only be gotten from the main dealers and as long as you have the owners documents.

This security system makes thieves think again about stealing car stereos due to the fact that they cant get the code so all modern cars have this security feature.
The way most people need this code is usually due to having the battery disconnected to have work done to the vehicle and then when you put the battery back on the stereo then asks for this code.

These codes are not common knowledge and you can only get them from the dealership so take you car and owners documents with you and they will then give you the code, they wont charge for this but make sure you take ID to prove you are the registered owner.

Once you have the code its best you write it down some where safe in case you ever need it in the future and its also handy to pass on to somebody buying your car should you come to sell it.

I know its a pain but at least this way its very un-likely that a thief would target your vehicle and take your stereo due to the fact they cant get the codes.

I have a audi 2000 model a4 1.8 turbo,we removed the battery terminal to do the clutch, reconneted the battery, now the radio is in safe mode wat do i do to reset it

Hello... sorry to hear you have a problem. If you still have the factory stereo in the car, you may be lucky enough that the code is in the book that came with the car. Check the manual and see if someone included a security code card or if the number was written in the booklet maybe in the notes section or in the audio section. If not, then the radio will need to be removed and the serial number from the stereo written down and you will need to contact an Audi dealership, give them the serial number and they should be able to provide you with the code to your radio. They may charge for this service. I have seen people get them for free and some charge. Be sure when you enter the security code that it is entered correctly because you will only have a couple of chances with most stereos before it locks down. I hope this helped and good luck with your venture!

Daughters car battery went flat now require security code for alpine car stereo engine number is 4A9228091

You car stereo security code is specific to your unit and is normally found in the car owner manual along with the engine number.
Providing it is the original car stereo, you can also ask the car manufacturer dealership for the radio security code.
Hope it helps!

Unfortunately this is how they make there money, have you got any paperwork for this car, ie a service manual or user manual in a wallet or folder somewhere in the car, if so look through it and maybe the code has been written down on a card or piece of paper, Colin.

Im looking for code to unlock my 2004 ex honda odyssey stereo?

You have to get it from the dealership service center. They may charge you for this service, however, they can get the code in short order and show you how to input it. If you purchased this vehicle new, look thru your dealership paperwork and owners manual. It should have included a card with the code on it. Hope this helps

NEED CAR STEREO SECURITY CODE FOR A 1998 HONDA

If the code is not written on the radio casing or inside the glove compartment (or similar place inside your car ) then the majority of HONDA codes are only available from here

https://radio-navicode.honda.com

You will require the car VIN number and Radio serial Number

If they cannot provide your code then you will have to try your HONDA Main Dealer .....or a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

After a security code for a factory radio for a Mitsubishi Lancer

Hello,

This is to inform you that no one could provide you the code that you need. That code is also called the 'Anti-theft' code which is unique with every car stereo.

You need to check the glove box that's in your car and look for a card. That card should carry the anti-theft code for your stereo.

If you could not find it, you need to pull out the stereo and get the serial number of the stereo on the side of it. Then call the car dealer or the manufacturer. They are the only one who could provide you the unique code for your stereo.

You would get this problem once the battery run out of charge, once the battery has been removed or once you change your alternator.

Hope this helps and have a great day!
