I found that a T-8 tool fits the screws perfectly. you have to have the wrench, the bits won't fit in the hole. If they are already buggered, a drill bit takes them out quickly. I'm looking for a heater element for mine, it seems hopeless. Cuisinart of course won't sell me one.

Good luck!

When brewing with the X1, water starts leaking from the underside of the top where the brass filter holder connects to the machine. Tightening the 4 nuts did not help.

HI
More than likley its your brew head gasket that is leaking. Take off the 4 nuts you hust tighten and it exposes the brew head gasket. Make sure that you put the chrome piece on the same way you took it off. Clean the head good before you put the new gasket on or you could have trouble.
I would check ebay.

Same problem here. The hose has a one way valve in it as well. I slid the hose part way off the reservoir connection and used the extra length to make up for the portion I cut off at the cut (you may have to move the on one way vlave further down the hose). This was intended as temporary fix while mywife bought a new coffeemaker. The new coffeemaker has been itting here six months as my temporary fix continues to hold.

My Brunn coffee maker is leaking from the bottom also.

I have the same problem and I took the coffee maker apart to find out why. The fitting for the hold in the black pastic that the water flows through to get into the stainless steel tank may not have a tight fitting with the plastic and that's where I had water leakage. I used some silicone sealant to fix the leak and the water stopped leaking!

Leaks From Filter Gasket

Sounds like you might have coffee oil build up. I would suggest soaking the Brew Head Screen and filter holder in a coffee oil remover by www.urnex.com or dezcal. Remove the screw if your filter basket has one. For home use it would be good to clean this every week or so. You can email me for more info: irene@smithagy.net. You also might just try purchasing a new filter basket (along with cleaning the Brew head screen and new basket).

Quisnart DCC-2000 12 cup (leakage)

If the DCC-2000m is filled past the 12-cup mark, there is a spill gauge at the back that will allow the coffeemaker to keep the cup count exactly at 12 cups.
