Asus EN8600GT Magic 512Mb video card

I'm trying to look for a diagram of this card for I want to know if it needs a seperate power supply going to it or not, the reason for this is if it has no SLi capabilities then what is the object that faces out from the card that looks similar to the SLi connector?

Greetings,
That particular card is SLI ready. There is no external power supply needed. That said you need to make sure that you are running at least a 750 watt power supply. Here is a link to the card with pictures and more details on its specifications:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121231&Tpk=Asus%2bEN8600GT%2bMagic%2b512Mb
If you are not set on that particular card I would suggest you also consider this one. The price is slightly higher but it is an all around better card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814134039
The second card I have shown you has much faster onboard memory. If you have any questions let me know.

Take Care,
-WN

your power supply is at the edge, so i'd suggest going for 650W power supply. your mainboard will support the graphics card but as i said - you need better PSU

You can try to update your graphics card driver to the latest one according to your operating system, from the nVidia web site. Also you can adjust your detailed 3d graphic settings from your screen properties dialog. (OpenGL settings, hardware acceleration, ...)

First make sure that you have the P4 connector (the square one at the top of the board connected to your P4 power from the power supply.
From here I would disconnect the data cables from the hdd, optical drives, and remove all video/peripheral cards. You should have only the RAM, CPU, and power connected, then try to boot again.
If this works, then add 1 device at a time until it fails to start. This will isolate the component that is giving you problems.
With a single stick of RAM, try to get the computer to POST. (if possible, test the ram in another machine first to ensure that RAM is good)

COMPUTER GOES SHUTDOWN WHEN PLAYING HIGH-END GAMES

If your mobo wasn't compatible with your video card, you wouldn't get a screen at all.
Yes upgrade your directx to 10
and yes upgrade your power supply to a 650Watt or greater.
The problem is most likely that you have a low wattage PSU and
when your vcard request more power to run higher graphic games than the
Windows Interface, your computer shuts down because it doesn't have enough power to give.

Hi, I think you will need to run the Dell restore disk, install the orriginal drivers and use the dell system to bootup then load the drivers the ASUS drivers then close the system, install the new card and then bootup. on doing this there will be resident drivers for the new card and it should work fine, then delete the orriginal drivers.
