Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

When you log on, push Ctrl-Shift-Esc. This will open up the Windows Task Manager. Now click on the button that says new task. Type in "explorer.exe" (w/o quotes), and then click OK. This should fix it temporarily.

For a permanent fix, go to the start menu and then type in regedit. Navigate to:
=> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
=> SOFTWARE
=> Microsoft
=> Windows NT
=> Current Version
=> Winlogon

Once Winlogon is selected, make sure that the Shell key is set to explorer.exe. If it says something else double click and change it to explorer.exe

Tip

Renaming The Start Button:

To rename the start button, you will need a hex editor.
My preference is UltraEdit

Copy the \windows\explore.exe file to a new name (e.g. explorer_1.exe)
With the hex editor, open that file and go to offset 412b6
You will see the word start with blanks between each letter
Edit it be any 5 characters or less
Save the file
Boot to DOS
Copy the existing c:\windows\explorer.exe to explorer.org
Copy explorer_1.exe to explorer.exe
You will also need to replace the explorer.exe in the c:\windows\system32\dllcache file as well with the new one.
Note: If the partition is NTFS and you can't access the files from DOS:

Start Regedit
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon.
Change the value of Shell from Explorer.exe to explorer_1.exe

My pc shows end program-explorer.exe

First thing you need to scan your hard drive for a possible virus infection.
If the anti-virus cannot find and fix the problem, the explorer.exe file is damaged/corrupted and you need to have it replaced by reinstalling Windows.

Hi micochereami,

  2. In the Task Manager window, please click the "Process" tab.
  3. In the Process tab, locate the "explorer.exe" process.
  4. Once you have located the "explorer.exe" process, please right click and select the "End Process" option.
  5. Then, please click the "File" option in the Task Manager window and select the "New task (Run..)" option.
  6. Then, in the Create New Task window, please type "explorer.exe" and press the Enter Key.

just get into safe mode by pressing f8 , then click the command prompt from the start menu or if you dont get the start menu press ctrl+alt+del key to get the task manager and go to file and click new task run the command prompt from there. Then in the command prompt type sfc scannow it will ask for the win xp cd for xp and for vista or 7 it automatically scans and fixes the system file errors.Let me know if still the errors are there.

How can i fix m3plugin .dll error

Do the following step and get rid of it.
Open Run , type regedit and press enter
Go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon

and check for the key Shell, the value of this must be Explorer.exe . if you can see some other after that like Explorer.exe C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin... , then remove the second file from the value, means it must only Explorer.exe

In Regedit go to;

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and delete any value except "Default".

then go to;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and delete value except default and anti virus.

Best of luck.

Safe mode not working either

I believe your problem lies in the process explorer.exe

To fix this I would press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and the task manager will come up.

Once it does click the Processes tab and look for explorer.exe and right click it and choose End Task.

Then you need to click File > New Task
and type in:
explorer.exe

If it dont work let me know and I will look into a different method.
