Re: Lexmark X6100 series printer
You just wait until tomorow, enter "Printers and Faxunits" and delete you printer.
It "hang" as it has just been in use, all you neede was to turn you computer of and then on again to "cut" the connection.

try to completely scan your computer with good antivirus. Uninstall Photosmart and make sure you have completely remove it.Delete the Photosmart's folder remained in c:\Program files. After, install again your printer.
Go to start>run. Type msconfig. Click on the Services Tab. Look for lexbce server in the list. Check it if it's not started or uncheck it if it is.
Go to control panel>printers and faxes. Double-click the lexmark printer icon and check if there are documents in queue. if there are jobs waiting to be done. right click each and delete them. Wait until they are clear. If it doesnt clear out even after a long time, restart the computer. Try to print afterwards.
If this doesn't work, try adding the printer again. Go to control panel>printers and faxes. Click on 'add a printer' on the left pane. Make sure 'Automatically Detect and Install my Plug and Play Printer' is checked. It should detect the printer is it is connected and turned on. Otherwise, try connecting it to another usb port or to another computer. If possible try using another usb cable or installing a known good printer to the computer to check if the cable or printer is bad.
There are some compatiblity problems between Vista and your printer. Check this web page to download a driver that may provide limited printing capability for your printer...you'll need to use Windows Scanners and Cameras or Photo Gallery for scanning.
