Hi. Keep on tapping F12 key while computer is booting up. It should gives you boot options. Select the DVD Rom drive and make sure that the bootable disk is inserted to the DVD drive.

Boot from a cd

Go to your BIOS settings and under boot devices, get the CD/DVD option ENABLED (This may vary slightly with motherboard models, but not too much). You may also change the Boot Priority (i.e, which device is to check first for the boot.ini file) but this is not a mandatory option though.

If you have CD/DVD booting enabled in your BIOS, the next time when you place a LIVE OS CD/DVD (bootable CD/DVD) in your CD/DVD drive and make your computer restarted, you will get a message during the pre-booting phase: "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD". You should now press any key to boot from CD/DVD.

NOTE: The new motherboard models all have CD/DVD booting enabled by default.

Hope this helps, Mrityunjay.

What is the boot order for acer aspire 7741

To use the Acer recovery CD you need to boot up with the CD.
Go into the BIOS setting and scroll through the settings until you come to Boot order. Then move the CD/DVD drive up as the first boot device and the hard disk as the 2nd boot device.
When you boot up the Acer with the recovery CD in the CD/DVD drive then it will boot up with the Recovery CD.

I canot boot my pc i select f12 then coming boot menu i select boot from cd rom but not display press any key to boot

If I understand what you are asking, you want to boot from CD but the boot from cd/dvd at start up is not showing up. It sounds like you have set in your BIOS enable boot from CD/DVD, But to be able to boot from CD/DVD you need to "in your BIOS" go to drive manager or it could be called boot drive priority, something llike that and put the CD/DVD drive first or at least before your Hard Drive.
That should make this show up for you now as long as its a bootable CD/DVD disk.
Hope this helps.

How to boot from a cd?

Its very easy to boot from a cd.

When you put a cd in sometimes the computer will ask you to press any key to boot from the cd.

You can also try:

1) When you boot the pc the manufacture Logo pops up as the first thing on the screen, when this happens press F12 for the boot menu. The boot menu will show 3 or 4 options to boot from select the cd drive and you will be good to go.

2) If you do not see the cd drive in the boot menu then when you reboot the machine at the manufacture logo screen press F2 for the setup screen go to the Boot menu/order and set your cd drive to be recognized. Once its recognized go and re do step 1.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask me.

How can i boot my dell studio from cdrom so i can reinsall from external drive?

Turn on the machine, press F12 once the Dell splash screen is displayed, the boot menu will show up. From the Boot Menu, use up-down arrow keys on the keyboard and highlight the CD/DVD/CD-RW and press Enter. You will see another menu, select "Boot from Cd-Rom" and press enter to select it. The system will boot up from the CD-Rom. Please note that this settings is only for one time boot, once the system is restarted, the boot sequence will be restored to the previous saved settings. If you wish to set it from the Bios, enter the Bios settings by hitting F2 or Delete (should be shown at the bottom of the Dell splash screen) while you see the Dell Splash Screen. In the Bios settings menu, go to Boot options and make the changes with the boot sequence.

Let me know if you need further help.

Good Luck.

First insert your cd in the cd/dvd drive and then simply restart the computer and it will boot automatically. If it does not boot automatically then go to boot menu and select cd/dvd to the first in the booting order. It will then boot automatically.

Boot cd-rom type:cd-rom/non-emulation booting

No, it's because Microsoft changed the way boot CDs work with SP2. You need an old CD (Windows XP SP1). I had the same problem here, notebook without floppy, it won't boot from the newer XP version CDs (SP2 or SP3) - but an old SP1 CD works!
(Those were all original Microsoft CDs, and the SP2 / SP3 CDs boot just fine on several other PCs I tested. It's just that some old hardware has a problem with the boot mode used on newer Windows CDs.)
