You'll need a sturdy stick like a thick bamboo stick to push this out but remove the hose FIRST from the vacuum and compact the hose up before inserting the stick. Either that or you may have to order a new hose which can be cheap. What model is it you have?

There is a sock stuck in the hose of my dyson dc23 animal motorhead how do I get it out

Hi, this is Jim with Crucial Vacuum,

Detach the hose and stretch it out completely, if the sock is in a hard to reach place use a broom handle to push it out. Be careful to mind the edges of the hose you don't want to cause a tear, which would lead to poor suction.

You can purchase replacement parts for your Dyson DC23 direct from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for readers, use code: FIXYA10

Was using vacuum and sock is now lodged in vacuum hose. How can I get the sock out?

The easiest way to remove an article of clothing from the hose is to remove one end of the hose from the vacuum, and reach in with a piece of wire with the end bent into a hook. A wire coathanger will work well for this. Just straighten out the coathanger, take a pair of pliers, and put a small bend at the end of the wire, in a J, or hook shape. Then, reach the wire into the hose, and when you feel the obstruction, twist the wire, so that the hook gets stuck on the sock. Then, pull it out, and reattatch the end of the hose back on the vacuum.
It doesn't matter which end of the hose you remove, just whichever is easier, and hopefully closest to the clog.

Do not try to push it out, as it will just bunch up tighter. It must be pulled out.

Does not pick any thing up

Check the filter and the hoses for blockages and clogging. If you can, **** backwards through the pipes to dislodge any foreign stuff stuck in them. See it there is suction when the hoses are removed, this will tell you if the hose is blocked. Also check the attachments you are using in case they are blocked. Using a vacuum that is not sucking means that there is no cooling air going over the motor and it will overheat.

Sock stuck in hose midway. Unable to getit out with wire or brrom handle. Is there a way to take hose apart at either end.

If the sock is midway, taking either or both ends apart won't help. Take it to a vacuum repair shop and ask them to try to unplug it. You may need to buy a new hose.

We have a DC 21 bagless. There's suction when the hose is not attached. When the hose is attached, there's no suction. We've tried to determine if something is stuck in the hose, but without success. Is...

If you suspect the hose is blocked, I would push stiff wire through it (gently) you dont want to puncture the hose.I have had so many blocked hoses in v/cleaners ( I service them) . try blowing through it. Sound silly but why not. I have had hair grips, paper, pencils, sweets, coins etc stuck in the bend of v/cleaner pipes.

just push a longer rod down the hose its the only way to get this out i bet its right at the hover end to and a wire hook may get at it from were the hose gos into the hover bag,(mine gets blocked up there every time)
i use a lenth of welding wire with a hook bent in it but a coat hanger would do if you straiten it out first then bend just the first inch of it so it fits inside the hose

My vauum will not pick up anything. i have checked all places.

Check your hose from the end to end, you have to have something stuck in there. If its clear then your motor is not vacuuming. Also is the belt broke that spins the brush?

I have a sock stuck in the hose of my vacuum cleaner. Rennaisance canister model. Because of the design of the handle I can't utilize the reverse blower. Please advise. Thanks

Try taping a fishing hook or some such onto the end of a straightened out coat hanger. See if you can push it up the hose and hook the sock.

Or, remove the hose entirely, and push a broom handle down the hose.

That's all I got...
