Question about Maytag Dryers

1 Answer

I have a Magtag Neptune dryer that recently began taking a long time to dry the clothes. I noticed that the exhaust hose was not very secure at the dryer and there was a lot of excess lint could that cause the dryer to take so long to dry the clothes

A vent hose that is full of lint or clogged/restricted will cause the dry to take longer to dry or leave the clothes damp. if you clean/get the hose unrestricted this should rectify the problem. Hope this helped tim

Dryer drying slower

Check lint filter. Check blockages in the exhaust hose. Check that the flap outside your wall is not blocked and that the slats or flap opens OK. To get fast drying you have to have a good airflow into the drum and out of it.

Taking long time to dry the clothes

Due to a dryer either heats or no heat , I would suggest pulling the dryer out and removing the vent hose . Dry a load of clothes to see if they dry normally . If they do , this verifys that the vent hose is either kinked ( restricting air flow ) , or , if the vent runs UP inside the wall , there is a restriction between the inside vent hose to the outside vent . May have to go into the attic to clean .

Most recently, the dryer function is not drying

Run a cycle with the Dryer vent hose off. If the clothes come out dry, you need to have a duct cleaning company come out and vacuum out the duct.

Maytag dryer not drying clothes properly

Have you tried cleaning off the sensor? Many of the newer dryers have a sensor that, when dirty, can no longer determine the moisture level of the clothes. Some manufacturers recommend using a light vinegar solution. Check your owners manual for location and recommended cleanier. Also, make sure your exhaust hose is clear of obstructions and that you vacuum out your lint trap area. HTH.

Dryer has heat but won't dry. Seems like no air is blowing into the clothes??? so takes long long time to dry.

Have you checked to make sure your lint filter is clean? also don't stack items on the dryer. and make sure exhaust vent hose isn't kinked or blocked.

I have a neptune drying center and it's taking 3 hours to dry

Check the exhaust duct again. There must be a blockage, a kink, or a disconnected vent pipe.

Longer time to dry clothes

Remove the rear connecting vent and run a 45 minute timed dry load. If it works correctly repair the connecting vent and or blockage in the wall.
If this does not correct the problem make sure the glow bar is cycling at the gas valve and report back for further repair.

Maytag gas dryer runs, doesn't dry

Check in the hole where the screen goes for blockage. Many times debries falls in there when removing screen. It cant make it out of the vent so it builds up and clogs the vent.
