Question about Whirlpool LSR5132PQ Top Load Washer

Whirlpool basic top loader

My daughter was testing fuses while the washer was running, and accidentally turned off the fuse in mid-cycle. Now it doesn't react. It's full of water, and makes no sound, no sign that it's getting electricity. I've tried plugging it into another outlet but it made no difference. I need help, as it's full of water, not to mention clothes.

She was testing fuses at the fuse box, to turn off electricity so she could hook up a lamp in another room. It had nothing to do with the washer. I wasn't home when it happened, so I'm not absolutely sure how it all came about. But my washer seems as good as dead, stopped just before the rinse cycle. How can I drain it?

As I said in my first description, I already tried another outlet, that I know works, and there was no change. All my lighting and other appliances all work fine, and so does the outlet that my washer is currently plugged into. That was the first thing I tried.

you need to more specif on what she was testing and how as there are no fuses in this machine and why was she testing in the first place plug a light in the out let where the washer is see if it lights then check the breaker if it don't make sure the lid is closed if all that's ok turn it back to wash like it is and tell me if it washes

Ok got ya now hon you may have a bad lid switch nothing to do with power On the control panel locate the two phillips screws at the back or front of the control panel at the bottom where the panel meets the base .Back them out far as you can .Pull the control panel forward and tilt it back(im assuming you've unplugged the washer first) you will see a connector that goes to the lid switch unplug it now on the part of the connector that goes up to the control panel put a piece of wire from one terminal to the other to jump the connection then pull the knob out if it works then replace the lid switch

Since you can not get the washer to run if you plug another item into the recepticle will it work use a hair dryer to test if the hair dryer works then the receptical is good and you have a washer problem if the hair dryer does not work then you have a wiring issue on the house wiring

My kenmore top loader 80 series wont start. I traced power to a black cylinder next to motor. i get nothing, no water fill or motor action in any cycle.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Also see the following Whirlpool / Kenmore service manual for top load, direct drive washers.

It has troubleshooting and component testing procedures.

Yes, there are - there are two switches. Thermal fuse and the High Limit switch located behind the back panel. Thermal fuse is a white fuse with two blue wires and the High limit switch is a black cylinder shaped fuse above the heating element. Good Luck...

My old Whirlpool DU8500X stopped yesterday in mid cycle and now will do nothing. Standing water in bottom. Tried breaker reset already.

If it is a top loader, a whirlpool normally has a fuse in a cartridge holder inside the top panel. Once panel is opened, trace the power wires, and look carefully for the fuse cartridge holder. Replace it. This fuse normally protects overloading of washing so as not to damage motor. If the fuse is good, then try and bridge the door limit out for a short while to ascertain if that is the problem. Please let me know.

Washer stopping mid-cycle

Push down on lid. You may have a bad lid switch. Start machine and press the switch down with something like a screwdriver and see if the motor runs.
