Yes you have to go with the reset there is no other option to make the corrupted WMA from working.Reset is the only option given to the customer.Even you take it to the service center they will take no guarantee of your data.
If you feel your data are more important than WM.Take it to the appropriate service center ask them for back up data. They will cost some amount for backup the data and then you ask them reset the corrupted WMA.Please don't do anything with the WMA if important data is present.Service centre is the best place to help you from recovering this data.
