Could be a driver problem. you can try re-installing the driver for your USB controllers.

go to control panel -> find device manager (search it) -> find USB (Universal Serial Bus) -> uninstall the drive that correlates to your camera.

then plug your camera back in and wait until the driver is automatically reinstalled.

Hope that helps. rate plz

How to transfer pictures from my cannon pc 1249 to computer

First install the software that came with the camera. Lost the CD? goto this link and get the software and drivers for free.
Canon Support Drivers PowerShot G9
After install, connect the camera to the PC and switch it on. if the software does not start automatically, start it by hand and put in the settings it should startup when the camera is connected.

I did search with a name of a camera, but if you have a microfilm scanner, go here for the software and drivers:

How do i crop pictures on my cannon SD750

I would recommend never to edit any pictures on the camera. First copy all files to a hard drive, then do your editing. You can delete, that is okay.
The problem which can happen on cameras trying to edit, is possible corruption.
Avoid problems by copying to a computer, then edit with your favorite editor or other kind of program.

How do i transfer my pictures from my camera to my computer? i used a usb before, now it doesn't work anymore.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, or whatever program you might have used in the past.

OK, LET ME SEE IF I CAN EXPLAIN THIS FOR YOU. TO TRANSFER YOUR IMAGES FROM YOUR CAMERA OR MEMORY CARD YOU NEED EITHER A CABLE TO CONNECT YOUR CAMERA TO A USB PORT OF YOUR COMPUTER.
