-   Sir, I am having Acer 5000 Laptop. When I place any CD / DVD in the DVD ROM, only the light flickers without any action. I have enquired about this to my friend and he said that if the lens were dislocated, then this sort of problem may arise and added that he doesn't know the solution for this. Can you please help me.
-   my dvd/cd drive on my acer aspire 5315-2153 laptop will not open or play a dvd---I remeber an improper shut down and an error notice that I did not write down--is this a software problem? -   rossprio

I have a Toshiba DVD-ROM Drive, Model No. SD-M1102 from an old HP Pavilion 8370 w/ Windows 98 that I let my kids use. The drive won't work anymore and I am not sure what I can replace it with and not spend a bunch a money. Are newer Drives interchangable? Can you help or provide a suggestion? Thanks Ed
