The D-LInk controller might be a ethernet adapter, try to check the model number of the PCI device on the device itself then post it here, so we can find the drivers or you can search it.

My pc does not have sound, it says no audio device , i used window xp 2002 pack 2, my pc intel petium

You need to buy a separate sound card it is because your onboard sound card was damage and to able to have sound on your computer. Just buy a PCI Sound Card and that is a compatible sound card for your motherboard. To install your sound card on your motherboard follow this steps:
1. Insert the PCI Sound Card in the PCI Slot (White Slot).
2. Turn On your computer and wait if the computer are recognize the device. Then if the dialogue box was appear "Found New Hardware".
3. Insert the CD Driver in your CD-ROM.
4. Click the selection box "Yes, this time only" then click the Next button and read the instruction to finished the installation process.

PLEASE

it's the driver that the motherboard need to make use of the PCI slots, so as you can connect cards into the slot, otherwise the cartd would not work.

As E210822 is not a good intel number, go here and find your motherboard

PCI response time too long

Hi,

Found this info on another site, and it should help you out:

"you should try to manually define the IRQ for the PCI Slot where your Merging Card is in. Then, when you´re running Win2k, select "ACPI PC" and not "Uniprocessor PC" in the Manager "Computer"-section. Also set the Bios to NonPnpOS.
Those settings keep Windows from putting too much shared IRQs on your one. But be aware to select one, not used by the system. These settings gave me much more stability and speed than in auto mode." "try different slots, on every MB with more than 3 PCI Slots there is a sharing with the AGP-Slot and between to of the PCIs.
Also play around with the PCI Latency Timer in Bios" I can't take credit for it, but seemed very helpful. This was taken from THIS site (forums on Merging Technologies) If my solution does not help, I hope something on there can! --------------------------------------------- As for Tiger_Prince, You can download the Audio driver for your motherboard from from Asus's download page, in the "Please Select the Product ", first choose Motherboards, then in the next drop down choose Socket775, and in the final drop down choose P5GD2 Deluxe, then click search. When the new page loads, click on audio, then download the driver for your version of Windows. Hope I covered everybody!

PCI slot no working

Hi Adam, you did a great job trouble shooting your system & you even answered your own question. If one PCI slot works the other should but since you tested that you're self & the PCI slot failed than the PCI slot is bad. My guess is one or more soldered points under the PCI slot. (Underside of the motherboard) is cracked or broken. It may be possible for you to re-solder the cracked or broken joints. The only way to prove this theory will be to remove the entire motherboard from the case & visually check every single joint. There is no single driver for the PCI slot. The PCI slots are part of the chipset driver which is already installed. There is alway replacing the motherboard.

Great job Adam!

Mike
