Question about X2Gen Computers & Internet
I'm thinking you have a slightly faulty ribbon connector to the display, and it could just be slightly loose. There are articles on Google and videos on YouTube that help explain and show how to reseat it.
It probably isn't the inverter or backlight, since the backlight does work. The inverter output is between 500 to 700 v, but it takes special equipment to measure it, and you chance shorting it out if you measure it directly with a voltmeter. The following blog explains how to check them:
As long as you can reset it, it might be worth living with unless you can find an easy fix, or spot something suspect (cracked solder joint, etc.)
Good luck, thanks for using FixYa, and hope this helps.

First to be sure thet it is a monitor fault try it in another computer ...if it does the same than try to see what the issue is..Also try to see if any of the menu it shown on it ..if it does than get into its menu and reset settings to factory ..than press the auto ..and try again ..if the monitor shows the menu display ..than it is nothing wrong with it ..but it is either selected the second out on the video card ..or you plugged it in the wrong location on the unit ..see if you have a video card ..and also the on board one ..you might have it plugged into teh on board (vertical one ) instead in the pci video card ..Remember that once the video card installed it disables the on board one ..
