The two red wires, connected from the common on the TO8C board, should be connected together on the Broil relay. Connect white on the NO terminal. The blue wire to the NO terminal. On the next relay hook the yellow wire to the No terminal.

Forgot my first solution, here's a better explanation. See the actual image of the New Control board. The one that was provided to you as replacement for your old control board. On the middle part of the New Control board you will find two black relays. The one on the left is the Broil relay and on the right is the Bake relay. For better understanding, see the sketch diagram versus the actual image. The parts, including the transformer, capacitors and relays was drawn in its exact location. See the colored terminal of the relays. Blue and red for Broil relay and Yellow on the Bake relay. There are also markings on the relay if you would look closely. They were marked COM (common), NC (normally closed) and NO (normally open). Now, I want you to look at the image of the Old Control Board, the terminals there were marked and colored (It was meant for color coding the wire). The CORRECT wiring is this: Connect the Red wire (or LINE) to the Broil relay (see the sketch diagram & the old control board); Connect the Blue wire (or Broil) to the Broil relay; Connect the Yellow wire (or Bake) to the Bake relay. Connect the White wire to N (neutral) terminal on the board, closely located with the relays. That's it the right connection..........Please be reminded that actual colors of the wire is different. I just use other color to represent the marking terminals of the old control board. I hope that's all that you need, please rate my solution. Thanks for using Fixya. Alp

Hi,

GE doesn't put diagrams online so the one that comes with the unit should be looked to check for their safety purpose.

Mostly they will give common wiring diagram with the oven itself.
These are the only wiring diagrams available in internet.Don't waste time in searching for it.

post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

My top broiler won't turn on. Everything else works fine. I have exchanged the top broiler element with the bottom. So I know it isn't the element.

Could be wiring. Did it work before? Maybe, never connected? Could be demand of two oven's and or broilers at the same time exceeded the wire and circuit breaker capacity when installed and therefore were never connected.
Otherwise thermostat. Probably need appliance Tec or Electrician.

Why oven not heating

Bad element, bad switch or other electrical problem. You could double check switch by turning on broiler element to see if that
gets hot. If so then either oven thermostat, or element. Did the circuit breaker pop off and then you reset? So there is a short somewhere, especially if it happens again. The above test with broiler element could verify power to oven. If it pops the
circuit breaker again. You need a service technician. Usually the oven requires a dedicated wire to the oven. Don't use the oven again until the problem is resolved. There's a slim possibility
that the circuit breaker needs to be replaced. How long did you use the oven? If a long time circuit breaker is more likely because
when they begin to fail they get too hot and therefore pop. You will need an electrician to change the circuit breaker if that is the problem.

Whirlpool built in electric oven

The upper element is for broiling and should not come on until you tell it broil. If it is coming on as soon as you turn on the breaker then it sounds like the printed circuit control board is bad. There is a relay on the board that engages when you program in the broiler. The relay can be hard to find and may not be removable. My broiler would come on when I programmed in the bake mode, go into runaway heat, put up a F10 code, and shut off. I could not clear it until I programmed in the clean mode for 2 hours. Now it works great.

Will the oven work without the broiler attached

You could use the oven without the broiler. It is customary that the oven will use the broil element to even out the heat in the oven for better baking but you could use if. it just may not bake evenly. There could be two things that is causing the broil element to stay energized. the control is not shutting down or there is a short to ground in the broil element. Have the broil element tested, it could just need replacing. If it is in the control that is a bigger problem.

Broiler element doesn't work

Reseating the Element The broiler is heated using an electric element which should be clipped in to the top of the broiler enclosure. If this has come loose then it might not be making contact with the necessary terminals. Try to reseat the terminal but before doing so you must ensure that the electricity is turned off.
Testing the Element The element is what heats up and cooks the food in the broiler. Over time the heat can damage the broiler element. These elements are supported by stand-offs and if the element burns out or becomes damaged then this can be a common reason why the broiler isn't working.
The easiest way to test whether this is working is to turn the broiler on and look at the element. If it is working correctly then the element should be glowing red.
Another slightly more complicated test for the broiler element is to remove the element from the oven and disconnect it. Then use a multimeter to check the continuity of the element. Set the multi-meter to measure resistance and then put it either side of the element. The normal measurement should be between 20 and 40 ohms. If the element is infinitely resistant then this means it's broken and will need to be replaced.
Testing Oven Controls Another reason why the broiler will fail to work is because of problems with the oven controls. A thermostat is used to set the temperature of the broiler, and the oven selector controls are used to control the setting of the broiler.
Turn the oven controls on to see whether the broiler is working properly. If not the controls can be removed and tested using a multimeter. Check the outputs to ensure that the controls are working correctly.
These can also be replaced if required by fitting a replacement part designed specifically for your oven.

Have a Frigidare custom imperial double oven, built in, 60-70's. Bottom oven unit went out sometime ago. now my top broiler unit went out. do they still make those units???

I doubt if they still make that model, but the repair parts should be able to be found and ordered. If you can find the equipment id tag on the unit and write down the model number from it, then you can search for the parts.

Most likely you have either switch problems or the heating element and now the broiler element problems.

Have a frigidaire oven, model# PLES389ECE. Broiler heating heats up but lower (bake) element does not. Element need replacing?

mos likely yes... but to confirm is very easy... unplug unit or turn circuit breaker off... in the oven with door open you will see the back of bake element where it goes into oven wall a couple of screws remove them and you should be able to gently pull element out...there are 2 terminals connected to element with a wire attached to each of them... first we are making sure the wire hasn't burnt off or cam edisconnected and second we can remove wires and use a volt meter and test power... set it up so you don't get electricuted and tuen oven on bake 350 do you have power coming to the wires with element diconnected from wires...if so then you have a bad element if not then a bad thermal cutooff usually located in back of unit ... good luck to you...

Frigidaire Double oven PLEB30T8AC

The best way for you to check is to swap with other element since they use the same one. FRIST turn the breaker off! Then take out the 2 screws on the element. The wires unplug, make sure they don't go back in the holes or the oven may have to come out to find them. You can pull the element out and take it to a parts house to see if they can check it with a ohm meter for you if you don't want to pull both of them out.
