1. Disable your windows firewall immediately or allow the firewall to permit the ping.
2. 127.0.0.1 is loopback address to ensure your network card is working fine.
3. Change the network cable with serviceable one.
4. Un-install the driver and reinstall with new one from OEM site

I keep losing my Yahoo mail connection. As soon as it recovers, I lose it again. It is NOT an IE problem because all other sites are fine.

It is Explorer problem because I use both IE and Firefox...IE kept crashing the yahoo.mail. But Firefox opened yahoo mail with no problems

I keep losing signal or internet connection on my laptop but desktop is still connected what can I do I continuously rest the router but keep losing it, Also what is the security button for on the router

Do you have something like a cordless phone or baby monitor near the router or laptop? These can cause interference with the wireless signal and cause dropped connections.

The security button is for if you have a compatible wireless card, you can get it to 'automatically' configure the wireless settings by pushing this button on the wireless router, and then press the button on the wireless client... they exchange the wireless keys, etc and establish a connection without having to configure it in Windows.

If you are interested in further info about the router, you can find the use manual here:

Hope that helps :)

I keep losing broadband connections on some web sites, i have replaced the ethernet cable and ethernet card looks ok?

Unless you lose connection on every single page and website,
its not your Ethernet card or your carrier, its there's.

Just buy looking at a card, there is no way to tell if it is ok, when the card goes bad it does not look different or change color.

Do a speed test on the card and see if you are getting the same speed and the card is rated for.

Vista connection problems

With internet explorer/firefox connectivity issues.. More than likely, you\'re having virus and/or spyware related issues. Go to download.com and download adaware and spybot and run full system scans and see where that takes. I\'d stay away from **** sites too :) lol
