If you're trying to enter the BIOS, you can Hit & hold down the ESC, or F1 while the computer starts, and it should beep. You can see if the BIOS see's the hard drive.

My kid did something to the emachine computer and everything is too big to change back

Have you tried to go to Control Panel - Appearance and personalization - Display?
You can try to change the zoom level.
And if you want to restore your computer, try to:
Insert the reinstall disk
Press F8 or F12 before Windows logo appears, click on the option to boot from a CD/DVD.

Hello, the problem with my mini toshiba nb200 is that when I on it, it shows the initial screen which says ; TOSHIBA Leading Innovation >>> Press [F2] for ...

If you are getting the Toshiba Select F2 or F12 screen the mother board has finished with POST.

Toshiba laptops are very good normally but don't boot up if there is a device in the USB slot or a CD/DVD in the drive.
If it still refuses to POST, remove the AC Adapter, remove the battery and remove the hard drive.
Power the unit up without the hard drive and it should complete POST and complain that there is no hard drive. If that doesn't work remove AC adapter, ensure battery is disconnected and remove hard drive and RAM. Try again. If it still doesn't work, you have a mother board fault and it needs a service centre. www.Toshiba.com will help you out.
If it does work at one of the options, when you have closed the laptop down, replace the RAM first and test, then the Hard Drive.
Hope this fixes your problem.

Please follow the steps below for you to be able to fix the problem. If everything is done and its still the same, most probably, the problem is with the Harddrive.
For One Key Recovery:

2. Press the little button near the power button, it usually do have a drawing of an icon that looks like a horse shoe or a headset.

3. There will be a window that will appear which do have three option, One Key Antivirus, One Key Recovery and System Setup. Choose One key Recovery.

4. There will be another window that will appear which do have two option, Restore from initial backup and Restore from user backup,Choose Restore from initial back up

5. It will asked you if you want to continue, Just click on OK or YES.

6. Once done, Reboot the computer.

For Recovery Disc,

1. Insert the disc inside the drive.

2. Turn off the computer then turn it back on and keep on tapping F12

3. There will a window that will appear which do have three options, HDD,ODD/DVD/CD, and NAT, choose ODD/DVD/CD

4. It will asked you to press any key immediately, you will need to press any key immediately so that it will boot from ODD.

5. It will asked you to choose a partition, choose Disc 0 partition 1

6. Reboot computer once done.

Hello, My toshiba satelite a305 laptop wont boot up! It goes on, everything seems to be running but it doesnt go past the initial screen that says "toshiba- press f2 press f12" blah blah blah...Can...

What OS is it running. If this was my laptop i would be using ERD comander or microsoft diagnostics and recovery toolset (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/enterprise/products/mdop/dart.aspx). This will allow you to boot into a recovery tool set and from there you can restore your laptop and see if this gets it booting up again. if it dose then have a look at thing you where doing before you had this problem. hope this will help you out
