When turning on the PowerShot

When turning on the PowerShot 750, a blue screen is visible with a very sharp clear word Canon. Then it switches to the mode to take pics. Thats when the viewer is all blurry and smeared with blues and pinks. Cannot get a clear image. Batteries are new. ?????
