Question about Fisher and Paykel (IWL12)

2 Answers

My washing machine fills very slowly even though there is plenty of water supply. Sometimes the water only dribbles in. The worse time is on nthe rinse 2 cycle. Now it stops when the machine gets to rinse 2 and I get fault code 136 message.. I have to turn the machine off altogether, and restart at rinse 2 for it to finish. The model is Fisher & Paykel 1W811 Intuitive Eco.

Hi just read your posting.Sorry to heatman to offer another solution, but on part of the posting an error code 136 was displayed. This is called MOTOR STALL.The reasons for this fault are varied. The causes are faulty wiring harness, faulty or jammed motor, seized bearings or seals, faulty motor controller, faulty rotor position sensor or harness.Heatman was correct in the slow water fault but the main fault on your machine is the MOTOR STALL.Has the machine been noisy on spin?If you have or can borrow an electrical test meter I can help you test the wiring. Please reply if you require further help.

Water for intial fill works fine . when it goes to rinse cycle the water just dribbles in making wash time go on for ever ! whats the solution?

when you start the washer set it just on cold and see if it fills slowly, when the washer goes to rinse it just uses cold water, you could have a problem with the washer or in the house, when you run it on just cold and if it dribbles in,stop it shut down the water going to the washer, remove the cold water hose from the back of the washer, stick it in the sink or inside the washer and turn it on,if it comes out strong then you have a bad water valve on the washer,if it comes out slowly you have a bad water valve in the house and it's not the washer.hope this helps

Which is hot & cold inlet connection

If you want to connect up a washing machine that uses hot and cold water but you only have a cold water supply (such as in a basement or garage) you can use a Y Piece connector to connect the hot and cold fill hoses to a single cold water supply (external link to 4Washerhelp spares).
The washing machine will then work OK. Simply screw the Y-Piece onto the tap, and then screw the hot and cold fill hoses to the Y-piece and connect the other end of the fill hoses to the washing machine. (You may also be able to buy this part from a DIY store like B&Q)
If you don't connect a water supply to the hot valve (and simply connect the cold water hose to the cold valve leaving the hot valve with nothing connected to it) then some wash programs may not work as some programmes only fill with hot water. However, some washing machines will work OK with only the cold fill hose connected. You can always try it and see. The worse that will happen is the washer could either stick on the odd wash programme or may abort on some. If you do this though it's possible for water to drip out of the hot valve on some machines during fill. It's best to use a y-piece if possible.
The fact that you have connected cold water to the hot valve is irrelevant, the washing machine will not know any different and will just heat the water up to the correct temperature. The washing machine may use slightly more electricity but if it's less than 10 years old it shouldn't be significant unless you use a lot of 60 or 90 degree washes. On 40 degree washes, manufacturers argue it's more efficient to fill with cold water only and slowly heat up the water to 40 degrees.

Water fills very slowly. I've removed the hot and cold supply hose and found no clogs. Water flows well from the taps, but dribbles into the wash load.

Did you check the screen filter in the end of the hoses on the washer and the end that screws to the water supply.

Water flow into machine dribbling - Fisher and Paykel GW712 (AU)

The first thing that needs to be done is to disconnect the fill hoses from the back of the machine. Once disconnected, look at the inlet valve screens and check for blockage, if clear, open the water valves and check for water flow through hoses, if not clear, clean screens at fill valve, reconnect hoses & check for operation. If the problem remains, then the problem is with the machines fill valve & it would need to be replaced

Kenmore washer. At rinse cycle only, water fills very slowly.

For low water volume - or "Trickling" effect...

1. Turn off the water supply to both hoses.
2. Remove hoses (one at a time so you don't get them confused)
3. On the washer side - look for a removeable screen inside wher you just removed the hose.
4. Using a small screwdriver - pop out the screen and reverse-flush it/clean it. It will likely be full of sediment and calcium deposits from your pipes.
5. Replace the inlet screens.
6. Re-fit the hose to the machine.
7. Turn on water supply valves.
8. re-try.

Kenmore washing machine does't fill with water only dribbles

Try disconnecting the hoses from the rear of the machine and see if the screen filters are clogged up and also make sure that their is plenty of preasure and volume of water when you turn on the hoses unhooked directed into ther drain. This is likely your problem as it is unlikely both the hot and cold fill valves went or bad out at the same time.

Washer Is Dribbling Water Into Tub

you have a bad inlet waer valve stuck in open position, youll need to replace the valve. easy enough to do, its the valve your hoses are screwed into, in the mean time until repair is made, you can simply turn offf water supply between loads ( not a bad thing to do anyway)

Water filling while door is open

if water is constanty dribbling into the machine then there is a leaking water valve on the machine, if not leaking in all the time then exessive water pressure at some time, dont thing it is the control
