I tried to print a document from miroscoft works and it only printed the header none of the body of the document. Also tried to print something of the internet and would not print. Any suggestions. It says both cartridges are full.

This is not going to be a fault of the printer. You dont say what your document is which makes it hard to answer. Bear in mind docs that are in grey are very hard for a printer to reproduce. try changing the colour of the print for something darker.
I've had this as well printing from many sites. Typically happens when a site uses frames to display information. make sure you've clicked in the frame that contains the information you want printed, and choose "print preview" from the printer menu. This will show you what it will print (and most web browsers have the option to print all frames, or just the selected one. Make sure print "all frames" is turned on
I had same problem with Vista machine and hp c309 printer cutting off 1/2 of last line. Tried all other listed fixes and none of them worked. Eventually I found a fix that worked for me though.
1. Go to the control panel and select the printer
2. Right click and select Properties
3. Go to the Ports tab
4. Uncheck 'Bidirectional Support'
5. Click apply.
