Most likely the safety switch is defective or the motor has failed

Hi.

Check the interlock switch, which is the switch that closes the circuit when the upper part is removed. The switch is probably broken. Testing is done jumping the switch.
Parts for this unit are not available. If the switch is broken, then the only repair would be jumping the switch. This will make the shredder less safe. I suggest replacing the unit.

Dr Boyer,
Any signs of life when you power it on? Like some light coming on or some click sound? If none, then check the wall socket and the plug for current. Check the power on switch. If they all are fine, check the connections to the motor. If the current is reaching the motor then it should run unless some paper is stuck or the motor is burnt.

My ssrxpe60 ingersoll rand compressor is giving a high air pressure alarm and shuts down

I may be missing something here but typically a SSR is a rotary screw machine.XPE 60 is the model. It probably has a controller of some type for this person to know its shutting down on high air pressure alarm. So as the previous person kindly said don't give advise on something you know nothing about before you get some one hurt or killed!!!!
To answer the question. You may have a pressure transducer bad but most likely you have a minimum pressure check valve stuck in the closed position. When the compressor starts air pressure in the separator tank builds. At approximately 65 Psi the MPCV opens and allows air to the after cooler and out into the system. If the MPCV doesn't open the air pressure in the separator tank becomes to high. You then get the high pressure alarm and the unit shuts down.
Make sure the air pressure is zero, electrical disconnected and discharge line isolated from system. Once done you should be able to unscrew the aluminum cap on the check valve. Be extra careful due to spring tension. It should loosen as the cap is removed. If the parts inside are very corroded or you are unable to remove the cap you may have to replace the complete valve. If able to disassemble clean and purchase a rebuild kit for your MPCV if available.

More then likely the valve is open on the heater hose , there are two small hoses running from the engine radiator to the heater radiator , one has a valve or tap that is open to heat and closed when the air con is engaged, make sure it's not frozen open.

I left for three days and came home to an air conditioner that is not working. No fan, no anything. I checked fuse box. Nothing. It is only 3-4 years old. Any help?

First verify you have line voltage, then I would start with the transformer in the indoor unit, if its open nothing will come on

The high pressure blew out one or more of your o-rings inside. The drive piston should not move freely in the gun so the o-ring around that is definitely one of them. It's hard to damage the metal and plastic parts of a gun short of dropping one off a roof so rebuilding one by replacing the o-rings is always worth it. You should look for a rebuild kit Part Number: RN46-RK

I live in an apartment that has Airtemp central air. The unit blower runs but the air is barely cool. Maintenance sys there is nothing wrong with the unit. What could cause this problem?

air temp should drop 15-20 F across the a/c coil a rule of thumb i use is air temp out of the vents 10-15 F less than room temp on thermostat if the air out of the vents isnt that cold the a/c is either leaking and undercharged or return air temps are to high. is the inside unit in an attic? return leakage in this situation can cause high supply air temps but look like every thing is ok when pressures are checked at the outside unit

Ingersoll Rand Air compressor loosing pressure

sounds like you have a problem with the discharge valve on the secondary cylinder, some I.R. pumps rely on the cylinder head valves to hold back tank pressure when the pump comes to a stop. the line down to the crankcase in front of the crank is a unloader valve that dumps the air pressure inside the pump to allow the next restart. I think that once you drain the tank and remove that cylinder head you will find a defective valve in the head.

No high speed on fan for heat and air

Replace your high speed cooling fan relay with a known working relay (rear window defrost for instance) and see if the fans turn on while the air is on high. If so, you need a new relay. You can also look into the fuse that protects the relay circut.

start with making sure you have aclean filter, after that make sure the blower speed is at the proper setting when the air conditioning is on---usually either high or medium high for a fixed speed system, make sure the return air vents are not blocked or restricted as well as the delivery vents not close or restricted to cause too much static pressure ( back pressure at the delivery side can reduce air flow across the a-coil ) also make sure the insulation sheet that is usually above the a-coil is not being blown down across the a-coil entryside when the blower is on. After checking all these, if you find nothing you should start by having the pressure checked --- basically comparing the pressure at the "outside unit" to the pressure at the "inside unit" or a-coil. these are high side and low side pressures. Have you done anything else to the house----attic vents, new soffits, insulation, etc that may be affecting heat gain in the house. Is it a house, mobile home or what?

High load and temperature in air compressor

The shut off and on is controled by the limit switch. There is contacts that springs pull down to contact there mating surfaces, the air builds up and over power the springs and lifts them up to shut off. So yours has maybe sparked enough to fuse together or someone has turned the adjusting nut which tightens the spring so it takes more air pressure to shut off. Make sure it is unpluged and remove the cover from the limit switch and look inside the cover for adjustmet instructions. Also check to see if the contact points are stuck together.
