Yes, the video resolution you are feeding the monitor is too high for it to work, you need to lower your Karaoke machine video resolution, see the user manual on how to do it. You need to find out about your monitor native resolution.

My son got this karaoke machine for Christmas. We got him a CD but we can not get words to show up on TV. What can we do?

Those machines take special cd that is made for Karaoke. IF you put another cd is that is just music, it will play but wont have any lyrics to show. IF you have a correct CD then you need to make sure that the monitor is able to show text.

Instruction booklets on machine

Many of the Singing Machine Karaoke system manuals are available on the company's support site: http://www.singingmachine.com/support/instruction_manual.php . The direct link to the STVG-1009 manual is http://www.singingmachine.com/download/Instruction_Manual/2010/CDG/STVG-1009/STVG-1009%20IM%20E01%20(SMC%20US).pdf .

I hope this helps.

We are trying to use the Karaoke Machine and the words don't display. And we don't see any audio input to connect the ipod.

You would connect the IPOD to the RCA jacks on the back, HOWEVER the audio through there cannot be used for Karaoke. Te only other possibility is to mix the stereo channels of the IPOD and run them into one of the MIC inputs.

To get words, you must buy special Karaoke CD's that have the music and the lyrics. Search for sellers of the disks using Google.

Karaoke Machine - words are overlapping/jumping

The Sining Machine #SMG-301 has a problem with not playing because of the word 'DOOR' coming up on the readout. I've checked the door/Tray to make sure that it was closed and when you open up the tray/door to put or take out another disk the word that comes up on the readout is not DOOR it's OPEAN! Any suggestions?

While connected via VGA cable Viewsonic VG920 Monitor has an error stating "out of Range" . H. Frequency 157 Khz V. Frequency 59.8 Khz

It was pretty tricky without instructions but trial & error brought me to a successful resolution. This machine comes from the factory set to connect directly to a television with supplied RCA cable. Do that before you connect to a VGA monitor. Using the remote control, press setup and then go into "preferences" and look around for "video" and then to "VGA". Once you click "VGA" the TV screen goes frighteningly blank. The next obvious step is to hook it to the VGA cable and VGA monitor. If your computer is also hooked up and on to the monitor there is no karaoke picture. Shut off or disconnect computer and presto, there it is. <br>

Blank karaoke machine

Try looking on the back of the machine for vertical and or horizontal hold controls (marked V-Hold and H-Hold) and try adjusting them, especially the horizontal hold.

If that doesn't help, then the next troubleshooting step would be if the machine has a video output you could try connecting to a TV/Monitor and see if the graphics appear there.
