Hi,

Have you tried any of these, if not do.

I hope you tried to reset the ipod.

You can try restore :

Note: Because Restore erases all of the songs and files on iPod, make sure to back up any files you've saved on the iPod disk. All of your songs, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and games can be loaded back to your iPod provided that you have them stored in your iTunes Library.

How to restore your iPod:
For Windows:

1. Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes.

2. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer.

3. After a few moments, it will appear in the source list in iTunes. If the iPod's display doesn't show "Connected" or "Do not disconnect" you may need to put the iPod into disk mode to proceed.

4. Select your iPod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
5. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software.

The 4 possible restore options are:

Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.

Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.

Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.

Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.

6. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started.

When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.

7. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage.

Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.

8. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.

For Mac:

Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod, even though a newer version is available.

Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with latest iPod Software version on your computer.

Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with latest iPod Software version on your computer.

6. A message will appear prompting you to enter an administrator's name and password.

7. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.

9. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.

Or

Try to reinstall

To update and reinstall your iPod software, first download the latest version of iTunes.

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Next, open the new version of iTunes and connect your iPod to your computer.

Select your iPod in the source list and click "Check for Update" under the Summary tab. iTunes will check to see if your iPod needs to be updated and perform the update for you.

Good Luck.

My ipod touch 4th generations says ipod disabled connect to itunes, but screen is locked

Like all electronic devices, iPods sometimes freeze and become unresponsive. Sometimes iPods lock up when they're dropped on the ground or come in contact with water, but less destructive accidents may also cause them to stop working. All versions of the iPod have a way to reset their hardware should they stop playing music or refuse to turn off.

Check the "Hold" switch on the top case of your iPod to be sure it isn't activated. An iPod will appear frozen and unresponsive if this feature is activated. A lock symbol will appear on your iPod's screen if it is in Hold mode. Switch the "Hold" button on and off once. Place one finger on the "Menu" button and another on the center button. Press both buttons at the same time and hold them for up to 8 seconds. Release the "Menu" and center buttons once the Apple logo appears on your iPod's screen. Try releasing the buttons and pressing and holding them a second time if the logo does not appear, as it can sometimes take several tries to reset a severely frozen iPod. Press and hold the top button and the center "Home" button on a frozen and unresponsive iPod touch to reset it. Hold the buttons for at least 10 seconds and wait for the Apple logo to appear on the screen, then release the buttons. Connect your iPod to its powerblock or a computer if it is still frozen. Wait 5 minutes and then try to reset it. Sometimes an iPod can appear frozen when its battery runs out and just needs a few minutes of power to start working again. Hope this helps.

.my ipod is disabled... how

Hi, just Hold down the home key and power key then plug the cord to your ipod to the computer then get on itunes and restore it

Also i am going to show you how to fix the semi-common ipod error that renders your Ipod unusable. Until now!

hings You'll Need:

* Computer w/ itunes
* Ipod touch or Ipone
* USB Cable for either device above.
* Your fingers (preferably your thumb)

Instructions

Start-up your computer and log in. Open itunes and leave it on the screen.

Now, hold down the lock button on the top of your device until the power off slider appears. Slide the arrow to shut off your ipod.

Now plug the USB cable into your computer. Make sure that the Ipod is not connected yet!

Hold down the stop button on the device and plug the USB cable into the device. Keep holding the stop button until you see the USB cable with an up arrow into an itunes symbol appear on your screen. This means that the connection to your computer was successful and that you are in recovery mode now.

Now click ok, and download and install the latest Operating System to your Ipod. You will lose all of your data on this device, so once you are done you have to re-download everything.

That's it. Now your device is working again, and it has the latest OS. It will be super quick, and all you have to do is restore your songs, apps, and other data and you have a good as new device!

Good luck...

My ipod touch 4 wont work! it shows the # symbols (usb, arrow, itunes), and it doesnt do anything else! pleaseeeee help! Thanks.

You must have bought a new iPod!
The screen is simply telling you to connect your iPod to your computer. (You should have iTunes already installed, if not you can download it, and install it for free from the Apple website).
Once it is connected, iTunes will pop up, and the rest of the set up will be simple!

Broken ipod, broken heart

Am soooo sorry 2 hear dat ya broke ya ipod.. but try dese it mite help ya access ya ipod..

But am not sure if its a screen lock or passcode lock..
If screen lock den basic reset n restart should work

but if its passcode den u must restore your iPod software from iTunes.
See “Updating and Restoring iPod Software”

Dont restore from backup if you have a passcode that you cant remeber.

You have to restore your ipod as a "new" device & then re-sync your content. Restoring from a backup will merely restore the lock.

But make sure before ya restore ya iPod u have a backup of d songs data n etc in d comp or els wer..

Hope it wors out 4 ya:)

My kid was playing with it and now i cant unlock my screen

Hello :

Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.

good luck .

please rate !

ITunes screen freezes on connecting the iPod. The ipod is not detected by iTunes even in disk mode. No menu of iTunes opens up when iPod is connected

if itunes is freezing when connecting the ipod then 1 of 2 things are happening

the ipod has an error on the disk and needs to be replaced or your anti- virus is going to scan your ipod for virus and can because its an ipod -

so test your ipod with another cpu that will tell you alot

if it freezes itunes on 2 different cpu then its the ipod -if it works fine then its your anti-virus - you need to disable or remove

norton is Nestorius for this
