Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook
I think that the issue must be into the skype setting s..if you open it and take a look at the preferences(options ) it has options for sound ..(mic) ..and you can actually choose the settings and the device ..
you might have more than one ..and you have to choose the sound driver for direct mic (built in ) or the usb ..if you have a built in camera one ..or another device ..
anyway ..my advice is to uninstall skype ..and see if it works after ..to be sure you may ..open the volume control ..by double click on the speker icon in the tray system (on task bar in the right ) ...and a window with volumes for each device will be opened..
look for the mic volume ..if there is present check not to be muted..and also check the volume to be high ..
If there isnt a volume for mic present in the panel ..than click in the upper left the options ...and properties ..and a list with devices will get along ...tick the case for the mic..and it will place it in the volume control panel ..after that check not to be muted..and also to be razed the volume ..
if you need to be much sensitive,,click under he options the advanced..and will place an advanced option under the volume of the mic..click on it ..and choose mic boost ..This will increase the volume and fidelity of the mic..
Anyway ..if you suspect a trouble in the driver area..the driver that you should reinstall is the sound driver ..and you can find it ..on the support site of the HP..here is the link ..I will consider the model in the heather to be the right one ..if it isn't than select from the list the right model and operation system ..and download it and reinstall ..
Pay attention that after reinstalling usually you have to enable the mic ..like I explained from that volume control window..
and for some Instant messaging programs like Yahoo messenger .. you have to get to actions ..and make a call set-up before you use it again ..
Same for the skype ..but the settings are slightly different ..
The idea is if it works in one ..should work in all..this is why I advice first to check the preferences in Google talk first ..not to be muted or disabled from there ..
Her eis the link for the driver ..I will leave the operation system selection to you ..cause you never specified it
