Wrong Black Cartridge installed error message

I took the cartridges out and had them filled. I put them back in and it's saying the wrong black cartridge is installed. This thing is driving me crazy. Anything you could do to help would be greatly appriciated.

Use original cartridges. Nowadays some companies resort to this cheap trick wherein if you put refilled cartridges, the printer wont work, giving errors and does allow you into head alignment tool..

Best bet is to use original inks.

When I replaced the print cartiges and try to print, I get an error message saying that the cartriges were not installed properly. I believe they are. What am I doing wrong?

Open the printer's lid.
Remove the cartridges.
Cut the AC-power to the printer.
Plug it back in.
Insert the "black" cartridge into the "black" carrier.
Insert the "colour" cartridge into the "colour" carrier.
Be sure that each cartridge "clicks" into place.

Error 14

Hello!
This is what Canon's manual says:
Error E14= cartridges whose destination are wrong. Check if supported ink tank(s) are installed, and re-install it properly, and then close the scanning unit.
I suggest you remove the cartridges and gently wipe the electric circuit on them and on the cartridge carrier. Turn off the printer. Wait for a couple of minutes, then turn it back on and put the cartridges back in.
If the error is still there, try holding the "resume" button (triangle in circle) for about 10 sec for each cartridge, that should reset them.
If none of that works, my guess is that one of your cartridges might be faulty. Try printing from your pc, see what message comes out on your monitor. Usually, when something is wrong with one or both cartridges, a message should appear when you try to print, telling you "problem with black/color cartridge" or "left cartridge can not be recognized" or something like that. That should enable you to figure out which cartridge needs a replacement.

If you found my answer helpful, please vote. Thank you!

Office jet 5510 keeps saying wrong black cartridge.

Look on the right side where the cartridge goes, if the spring on the right is hanging loose it might have poked a hole in the ribbon cable at the rear near the contacts. If so it's time for a new printer, if OK, check the exp. date on the ink cartridge and if it's been refilled or a generic ink you may just need another one.

Cartridge Error, Error 50C

Hi there Error 50c

Dell gets this lots so have a try.

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.
Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

Error message ?incorrect black cartridge?

You can get this message even when the cartridge is the right one, but the joints are covered in ink. Try the following solution- fill a bowl with hot water (not boiling hot), 3 mm high, remove the cartridge and place it so only the joints are submerged in the water, for a minute or 2. Dry it well, clean the joints again and place it in the printer. Good luck.
