Re: printing everything pink and yellow
If you tried to wipe the printhead, you may have clogged it instead.
The nozzles are microscopic in size and can be clogged by most cleaning materials.
You need something that produces absolutely no fuzz.
My best results have been when the printhead is removed, sprayed with Windex or similar, then blotted with a hard paper towel.
After this, you may have to run the cleaning routine multiple times to restore all colors.
If you are a heavy user of the machine, you may have accumulations of paper fiber that is acting as a wick and depositing ink on the paper while passing through.
I have on occasion had to strip the printer of its plastics, bathed the entire machine in a home-made solution similar to the Windex formula, spray it clear of the solution with distilled water and then allow it to dry for several days before reassembling.
This is obviously one reason I'm retired- can't compete with the cheap labor building them.

You'll have to run the cleaning mode a few times, to do so you'll have to get into Maintenance Mode.
To do this: Press MENU then * then 2 then 8 then 6 then 4 This takes some practice and you have to press them all within a few seconds. If the machine doesn't say MAINTENANCE when you do it press STOP/EXIT and try again.
When in Maintenance Mode: Press 7 then 6, then press 3, then press BLACK START It will say Cleaning - this will take some time when it's done it will go back to MAINTENANCE
After it's completed try 0 then 9, this will print out a small Print Quality test page it should have several rows of each color (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) if they still don't look right then run the cleaning mode again and then print another quality page.
Continue to do this until the quality is back to normal, when you're done to exit maintenance mode press 9 then 9 to return to normal operation.
note: this cleaning mode uses up a fair amount of ink, use sparingly
note: maintenance mode is for brother technicians and has some codes that can damage your machine, only use the codes I've explained in this solution
It sounds like your black (K) or Black/Yellow (KY) head needs to be replaced. The problem appears to be in the top half of the black head. Without knowing more (like what make/model the printer is) I can't help more than that.
See if the ink cartridges are installed correctly. It may be that your Magenta and Yellow ink cartridges need to change places. So, try replacing the cartridges, put the Magenta where the Yellow is, and the Yellow where the Magenta is. Usually the ink cartridge placement follows this order: Cyan, Magenta, Yelow, Black, so see if the cartridges on your printer match. Also, check to see if there are color markings on the print-head itself, and make sure the markings match the cartridge inks. If the ink cartridges are aligned properly and the Black is printing out just fine, you may be looking at a software issue, and you'll need to remove the printer from the Devices list (go to Start -> Control Panel -> System), unplug the printer from the PC and restart. Then, install the drivers first, and after that plug in the printer cable to the PC.

The nozzles have gone bad...it needs to be serviced or replaced...i appreciate your efforts yoy put in to fix the problem thats best we can do after all its a machine.if the printer is in warranty contact the manufacturer.
the problem is very simple the magenta ink the cartridge is over or the head is been blocked from where the magenta ink comes out,
because red colour requires ---yellow plus magenta(pink)----to make it red.and ----dark yellow plus magenta(pink) -------- for brown colour.
