Question about Saeco Royal Digital Plus Coffee Maker/Espresso Machine

1 Answer

When grinding coffee, the process does not stop to allow the water to pour through the coffee, but it continues and then discharges the pellet of unused coffee into the dredge drawer. About every fifth grind, I am losing precious beans. Sent 3 times to tech, no luck

Sounds like the grind is too fine or the brew unit screen and discharge tube is being obstructed.

Drips both inside and outside pot. I've ckg for clogs. Nothing clogging

Based on what you wrote, it sounds like your ground coffee basket is overflowing. This happens with my coffee maker if I grind the coffee too fine, or the coffee is very fresh and is off gassing nitrogen.

I shake the basket back and forth rapidly, and often stop the drip to allow the grounds to soak up water for a minute before allowing to go bak to brewing.

I hope I guessed your problem, if so, grind your coffee a bit more course or do as I do, leave ti the way i like it and allow the grounds to soak up some water before continuing with a full brew cycle.

No coffee will come out

Maybe the coffee is down, around the waste container. In this case the grinder must be opened probably the cofee funnel is jammed or is not in his place to direct the grinded coffee.

Water tank is full, water gets hot but no water comes up through coffee grinds, using as pour over, not connected to water line.

Remove the sprayhead and check that for blockage. Pour water into the reservoir with the sprayhead removed to see if it flows. If water flows then the problem is the sprayhead. If no water then it is the brew tube and you need a deliming spring to clear out debris. If the only time water does not get through grinds thne it is possible the grinds are too fine.

Coffee not brewing after grinding

After grinding did you hear the brew group goes up and pump start? If you hear the pump start and stopped, itis blockage in the brewunit metal screen. Just needs cleaning.
If you don't hear the pump starting, the problem is with the faulty micro switch inside the gearbox , that is behind the plate of brewunit.(service center job)

Does not brew a full pot anymore.

I had the exact same problem with my machine making 1 cup at a time.

Here is the solution:

1. make solution of 1 part vinegar & 2 parts water.

2. pour solution into resivoir and set for 2 hours

3. run solution through machine (yes, you will have to stand there and keep pushing the buttons).

4. take same solution (now very hot) and run it through machine 5 or 6 times

5. make fresh solution and continue process
