I am not sure exactly what you mean when you mention the screen "won't turn black" after you try to unlock your iBook.
So to at least point you in the right direction, if you are unable to access the desktop within your iBook, then click the link I have provided below, in order to reset the user administrator password for your iBook:

Try this procedure, but keep in mind, in order to perform this process, make sure you have your Mac OS X restore or Mac OS X installation disk.
Let us know if this helps you gain access back into your iBook desktop, if this is what the issue is, based on your initial question.
