Are you sure this model can play while simultaneously charging?

    Hi,
Actually I would like to use it to play HOLD music where I work (boring) - CDs always end up skipping and I would like to be able to set it and forget it. I have read that other SanDisk models can not play while charging without some kind of alteration of the USB plug. I have a USB to ac adaptor, do you think it would work with that?

Yes I double checked the manuals for both of the units before I recommended them to you. They will play while charging. They each have an available ac adapter for wall and car. The Sansa Fuze also has a rated 24 hour battery life. Check out this kit from Amazon it is only 27 $ and includes a ton of accessories for the Fuze including a wall and car charger:

I assume you want to use this in your car? Please let me know what I could have done to get a better rating from you. I would like to keep my reputation as high as possible.
    Take Care,

The Sansa will need to be plugged in to the wall. The usb modification you have heard about require removal of the #2 and #3 pins (which carry data signals) and just leaving the #1 and #4 pins which carry power, thereby tricking the unit into just charging not syncing with the pc. You could try the usb to AC adapter you already have and it will most likely work, but I can not recommend using it due to the fact that it could short the unit if the voltage was not regulated correctly. If you have time could you explain how you will be playing the hold music for the customer? Does the phone have a line in that you plug into?

With the proper AC adapter for the country or countries you are going to visit while overseas. You need the adapter to recharge the nano when its battery runs out. So, load up your nano with songs, videos and photos, take the USB wall charger, the 30-pin or Lightning USB cable and the AC adapter and enjoy your overseas trip and your nano !

How do I re charge battery with electrical plug

To charge the battery using your computer:
Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer using the included iPod shuffle Dock. The computer must be turned on and not in sleep mode (some models of Macintosh can charge iPod shuffle while in sleep mode). When the battery is charging, the status light on iPod shuffle is orange. When the battery is fully charged, the status light turns green.
If you don't see the status light, iPod shuffle might not be connected to a high-power USB port. Try another USB port on your computer.

To charge the battery using an iPod USB Power Adapter If you do not have then you have to buy the same from Apple Store) 1 Connect the AC plug adapter to the power adapter (they might already be connected). 2 Plug the USB connector of the iPod shuffle Dock into the power adapter. 3 Plug the power adapter into a working electrical outlet. 4 Put iPod shuffle in the dock. You can disconnect and use iPod shuffle before it is fully charged.

How do i turn on my ipod shuffle?.......and how long do i charge the battery for?... and how do i know my ipod is fully charged?

  • first i will cover turning the unit on. then i will cover how to charge the unit.
-Move the power switch on the top of the iPod Shuffle to the "Normal" or "Shuffle" position.
  • Press the play button on the iPod Shuffle to begin music playback. If the iPod does not begin to play, follow the rest of the instructions.
  • Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of your iPod Shuffle and then connect the other end of the cable to your iPod power adapter.
  • Plug the iPod power adapter into a standard electrical outlet to charge the iPod Shuffle's battery. Try to press the play button again.
  • Connect the iPod Shuffle to your Mac or PC computer using the iPod USB cable. Then, open the iTunes program on the computer and sync your iPod with your music library. If your iPod Shuffle was frozen, it should now turn on.
  • to tell if the ipod shuffle is charging. Eject iPod shuffle in iTunes, but leave it physically connected to the USB port. The front LED should be orange if it's charging (or green if it's fully charged). If it's not charging (such is the case if it's connected to a low-power USB port on a keyboard), you won't see a front LED. If you need further assistance please feel free to follow up with a comment and i will be here to assist you. If this assisted you please feel free to rate the comment. thanks and have a great day.

    Charging the mp3mp4 player

    1. Get a USB wall charger. These are AC adapters that plug directly into the outlet. You then plug the USB from your MP3 into the port on the adapter.
    2. Charge your MP3 player on the go. There are also charging kits that plug into the cigarette lighter or power plug in your car. These kits come with a DC power adapter that has a port on the end for you to plug in your MP3.
    3. Acquire Apple iPod specific chargers. When you need to charge your iPod music player through an outlet, look for the Universal USB car charger or the Universal USB travel charger made specifically for Apple products.
Make sure that you have your player on a power strip or surge protector so that if you get a surge you wont fry your player.

    The new ipod nano

How old is it? if it's under warranty apple may fix it.
Simply, if you charge your iPod through you computer then the battery could be damaged. USB ports only put out 5 volts. If you have an AC charger that puts out 9.5 volts then consider charging it with that. Some AC adapters only put out 5 volts for the purpose matching the USB standard, but it's not good for the ipod.

Try resetting it. Hold down the Menu and middle button at the same time until the screen gets dark.
If that doesnt work, Restore it. Plug it into the computer and click "restore" when it pops up in itunes. Please note that this will erase all data on the device.
