Wii Delay on new Insignia TV

Hi.
My husband and I just upgraded to a 50" Plasma TV last night from an old 25" tube TV. We were so excited, and quickly plugged in our Wii for a good old game of Tennis.

Unforunately, there was a difference immediately in the response on the wii. I even couldn't seem to click on the correct "mii" character, because my pointer was not responding like it used to on the other tv.

I went into my Wii settings and figured everything out there...and the problem was still there. We were very frustrated.

So...I need to figure out why there is a delay.
1) Do I need to buy HD component cables for my Wii?
2) Is it the TV?
3) I also read online that I might want to turn of the Digital NR in the TV's settings?

Thanks for any help.

I have a 48in LG LCD flatscreen having the same problem. My previous tube TV has no delay when playing games, Rockband, etc., but when hooked up to my new flat-screen there is a 1/2 second delay between pushing the button on the guitar or controller and the response on the screen.

I have the same problem, also. I had a 26" tube tv, and i bought a new 32" HDTV and now the wii has a delay. It makes it almost impossible to play.

We just upgraded from a 32" LG tube tv to a 46" Insignia LCD and had the same problem with our Wii and PS3. For us, we just switched the TV settings DCM (digital clear motion) function. We keep it on high for movies and TV shows and turn it completely off when playing Wii and PS3 games. Hope this helps!!

I upgraded my 29" CRT to a 50" Insignia Plamsa HDTV, and experienced a horrible lag as well, making Guitar Hero unplayable on the Wii. Based on a recommendation on another forum, I bought the Nintendo component cables for the Wii ($39.99 at Best Buy), and in the Wii Settings I enabled 480p resolution (which you can only do if you have the component cables), and enabled burn-in protection. That fixed the problem. No more lag! Hope this info helps someone else.

Insignia T.V. 50" Model; NS-PDP50, Plasma T.V.

T.V. comes on, there is sound but no picture.
T.V. is les than 18 months old. We use the T.V. when we come to our Condo in Daytona Beach for vacation, so it hasn't been used very much.

Bought a Wii and using the standard cables it played great on a new 50' Panasonic Plasma as well as on our 2 year old 32' VIZIO LCD. Just upgraded to a 46' Sony LCD (W series) and the Wii looks terrible...

The Wii can display on a HDTV, but keep in mind the output is only 480p. It is not true high definition, and it will only display this using a component video cable. There shouldn't be a difference with LCD and plasma.

You will also need to go to the display settings to force the Wii to display in 480p.

Try a different input (safe to assume your Sony has multiple?) and see if it is that specific input. Also, try a different device like a DVD player or VCR and see if you get the same result.

Good luck.
