It may be the start switch-that is one of the trouble shooting answers in the manual. (i.e motor not reaching speed)

That is the answer. I got one at a tage sale. I opened the electrical box on the motor and saw that the Switch PC Board for the starter switch had bent due to constant spring pressure. I inserted a spacer to press the board straight, and the saw started like new. Get a new switch, you will do better. Bob

This is the answer. The PC Board for the switch warps with time. Inside the electrical box, you will see it. I inserted a spacer that pressed on the cover, and it started up fine. Get a new switch, a better solution

First of all the saw needs to be plugged in directly to a outlet . NO Extension CORD !!! If it is Right , then Check on the motor label and see how many AMPS the motor is ? You need to then check the Breaker box and make sure the breaker is big enough to handle the load of the motor on the saw . You may have to make sure that the saw is the only thing on that breaker . NO Refrigerator , A/C , ECT.
Also make sure that the motor is clean and not packed full of saw dust . This can over heat the motor and kick off circuit breaker fast .
Good Luck , Hope This Helps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to push blade to start and after a little while breaker trips

The Start capacitor is bad. (CD60A) Made in China the min. order is 1000 peices, replace motor cost more than the saw, or get a 200 uf 250vac capacitor (Grainger) to replace the CD60A. It is larger so you have to mount it on top of the external cap on the motor. I think the CD60A is going to be a major problem on all these saws.

Brand new saw trips 20 amp breaker every time I turn on the saw. It starts to turn and after about a second the breaker trips. Have tried different plugs on a different breaker. Still it will not start....

How long of an extension cord are you using? Is it at least a 14 gauge wire? It should be 12 gauge. If it 16 or a long 14 it will cause the problems that you mention.

If this is occuring when its plugged directly into the outlet then it is likely a problem with the saw. Before you take it back tho try another outlet on a a different circuit.

Trying to cut any size piece of wood the saw blows the circuit breaker at the panel 1x4 piece

Are you operating the saw on a 10 amp circuit or with a long extension cord? Table saws need at least a 15 amp circuit and should not be used with an extension cord. If absolutely necessary the extension cord should be no less than 12 guage. Tabel saws will run OK on a 10 amp circuit but as soon as you apply a load (try to cut wood) the power requirements go up to keep the saw turning. If you can, plug it into another outlet on a higher capacity circuit breaker or at least closer to the breaker box. If it still pops the breaker you may have bearing problems in the motor that are creating too much friction. This would make the motor work harder to turn so it would draw excessive power and trip the breaker.

My 16 inch Band saw briefly bogged on a log resaw project. I think it may have tripped the fuse. What is the recommended fix for the fuse or switch?

No fuse for the motor has an overload protected circuit and resets itself usually within minutes. Your home circuit breaker or fuse in the electrical box needs to be checked.

14" Delta Bandsaw keeps tripping the internal motor breaker.

Hi,
The first thing that I would check is the wiring to the saw. My guess is that the wire to the saw or the cord is not heavy enough.
As saw like that can pull a lot of amps. Probably 15 or more when working hard. What happens is that when the amp draw goes up and the cord is too light, the voltage drops which increases the amps. and starts a vicious cycle...
The one thing that finally gives is the internal overload in your motor.

Try running heavier wire or a heavier extension cord if you are using one.
#12 wire or a 12 wire cord would be minimum, if running over say 50 feet then you should be looking at #10 wire.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Can't turn planer on

I think that you burned out the start capacitor(s) on your motor.

This is a common problem if the motor is overloaded.

It is also possible that the thermal overload is defective.
