Question about Mitsubishi WS-65611 65" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

The problem started initially with the remote control not working. When I turn the TV on at the control panel the volume is all the way up. When I turn it down and let go of the volume button it automatically scrolls back to full volume. I pressed the reset button - no help. I unplugged it for awhile and plugged it back in - no help. Any suggestions?

Check the volume up button. It is either just stuck or defective, causing a constant stream of data to be sent to the microprocessor. You remote isn't recognized because the data line is continuously active.

We rearely use the buttons on the panel. The volume up is not stuck. It is working like the down volume (pushes in and clicks out when I let off).

Are you handy? If so you can pull the speaker grill off and you should see two screws, one on each side of the control panel. Remove these and unplug the wires going to this panel while the tv is off. Try your remote and if it works then a switch on this panel is causing the problem. If it doesn't work, and it could be the remote isn't working, plug the panel back in and turn the tv on. Turn the volume all the way down and quickly unplug the panel and see if the volume no longer goes up by itself. If it doesn't go up by itself then again, a switch on the panel is bad. If it still goes up you have a problem with the control IC or possibly the remote receiver.

VW37L 37 in. LCD HDTV input button wont work

Have you find out if the problem is with your remote control? For instance, you are able to control your TV using a Universal remote control. My 32" Vizio TV had a similar problem, initially thought it was related to my remote control but in fact the TV didn't respond either to an universal remote control of my SAT receiver that I eventually use to just turn on and off the TV. I've found out that the problem was with a little board on the TV located at the left down corner viewed from the front side of the TV and that receives the signal from the remote control. I found the board on ebay for about $5, replace it and the TV responded again to both original and universal remotes.

Bush lcd42f1080p100hz remote will not turn tv on

I had come home about a week ago and pushed the power button from my remote but my tv did not respond. So I just went to the front panel and pushed power but once the tv turned on, the volume was on full blast! I used the front panel volume decrease to get the volume down, but when I stopped pushing the button, the tv increased its volume to full blast again by itself! Naturally I just turned the tv off for a few moments. I tried the remote again, no response again, so I used the panel power button. The tv volume was still full blast when it turned on but after I decreased the volume it stayed this time. The picture is and has been perfectly fine and the tv was working fine. The next day the problem started all over and now once we turned it off from frustration of having to manually use the panel to change channels, it now will not turn on at all. I have changed batteries from my remote, reprogrammed my remote, pushed system reset several times, unplugged it for a while, bought a new surge charge, and even held the menu and device panel buttons for 10 sec and tried to turn the t.v. on again! What other options do I have or what may be the issue at hand and possible parts that may need to be replaced?? Thanks!!

Samsung 40 hd tv the vol will not come down from 100 percent . I try to turn the vol down and it will not turn down. what can I do. tks mike

I presume that the volume will not turn down from either the remote control or the volume buttons on the side of the tv. If the volume down button works on the side of the tv then the remote control is suspect to be faulty. If neither remote or tv volume buttons work then check whether the channel buttons work on the tv (not remote). If none of these work then check the input connection from the buttons /infra red reciver to the main pcb. This is a push on cable connector. As a point, also check that the volume up button on the tv is not stuck in, and feels the same as the other buttons when pressed.

TV doesn't turn on

I have a Mintek DTV265 which is almost the same TV the red light don't blink it stays on as long as the Power button is on. Try turning on the TV by pressing any of the buttons on the side of the TV Channel up or down, Volume up or down , or source. If it comes on then your TV is alright. I had one of them jumbo universal remote controls and it actually had a code that worked on my TV.

Remote doesn't control. batteries are good, but there is no apparent connection between the remote and the TV. It is in use with a Comcast turner-DVR, which works fine, but I have to turn on and adjust...

Are you using Comcast remote to control the TV? When you program the Comcast remote to control your TV, it will do two functions: on/off, and Volume control. The Comcast can also be programmed not to control the volume of the TV (TV volume will have to be set at about mid level manually, then the Comcast box will send out variable sound level to the TV), just on/off ONLY.

The volume is turning itself down all by itself. The volume on the remote won't work, but the remote is fine with the other TV controls.

It sounds like the button is stuck. Take the remote apart if you can and see if the key is stuck somewhere. This happened to me once with a rubber key type of remote. It drove me crazy.

Vizio remote control not working

Hi, I had the same problem. My vizio remote for my 42 inch 2 month old vizio also seemed to stop working. Here's what I did: My vizio remote (like most remote's nowadays) was designed for multiple components (tv, dvd, vcr, etc). All you need to do to make the remote work again is set it back to tv. Now, the confusing thing about vizio remotes is that they actually have TWO places where you can switch the remote to the appliance you want to control. One is on top of the remote, the other is on the BOTTOM. Switch it back to TV using the BOTTOM. My remote had stopped working because I had inadvently switched it to another component on the BOTTOM component switch.

QA01 and QA02 did not had to be replaced there was a contaminant problem on solder flux that was causing the problem. kbzon
