One thing i had discovered is there s an interlock with the bottom cover. if the center is not grounded with the cover off, the unt will not completely turn on.

Hi wondering if I can get some asistnce with my HTR-5790, for the third time I have had it repaired in the last 2 months, the first time it went out I was told by the technician that he had to replace 3...

Yes that is very possible! the wires and speakers need to be checked very carefully for any shorts. The wire should be inspected for any cracks or breaks that would expose the wire, the speakers need to be checked with a multimeter one by one for any odd readings, and last they should be checked for sound quality with a test amp to see if there is any distortion. If the technician has repaired the unit three times I'am surprised he has not looked at the other items. I think you should take the wires and speakers and request he do a load test to rule them out.

How to add a subwoofer?

Car systems and home systems are different in the fact that the car system expects to receive 12 volts DC for power, and they are usually 8 ohm speakers. I would not recommend doing this unless you are in the mood for some serious config. Power converter from 110 AC-12v DC and big enough to handle the amperage. If it's not powered, then your going to be running a 4 ohm speaker on an 8 ohm amp output. Again, not recommended.

Speakers cut out

HI,

Are the speaker leads clean and full? ( not missing a bunch of strands) if so, it sounds like the spot where the speaker connectors tie into the circuit board inside.
I would find someone to solder that places where the connectors go into the main circuit board

How much is a JVC RX 750v worth?

I have this same unit. It is many years old, and does not handle any modern codecs, nor home theater duties. It was, however, a very good unit for its day. If I were to sell mine, I would not accept less than 100 US with remote.

PROBLEM WITH MY JVC RX-3 RECEIVER!!

Is this a Pioneer receiver or a JVC? Either way, if you have "had it for years", replace it. You will be surprised at the price now a days. Gas is up, but electronic equipment is usually a good buy.
