Question about HP Compaq Presario C304NR Notebook

My sister got a new printer and could not get it to work. I went to JustAsk and they helped download new drivers and it started to work. It now prints pictures from her documents files, It prints test patterns and results from Cleaning print nozzle and head alignment, it prints from Notepad and wordpad sheets, it prints Windows Test Page in color and black but will not print her email (From Hotmail.com using Internet Explorer ) and Canon (Printer Mgr) now says that the problem is somewhere with the Compaq Presario C304NR Notebook PC. I am a complete amateur when it comes to computers but I went to the support section for the computer, looked under printer trouble shooting, checked "Printer would not print" and tried to input and constantly received the "error Message" from Microsoft Internet Explorer that "An activex control on this page is not safe. Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe controls on this page. As a result may not display as intended." Then when I click on the "OK" button I'm back at square one. I click "Printer would not print" and click the button and I get the same error message. I have spent over a week trying to get my sisters computer/printer to print her email and web pages with absolutely no luck . Can you help me please??     I had already checked that part and the Printer that she is using is already set as the default printer. The second part problem is that when I go to "file" and then "print" , no printer box comes up or when I go to the print icon in the tool bar, no printer box comes up. And like I said, I think that it is just some dumb thing that I am doing or not doing. Just need someone to tell me what that is

    Went to File and print in IE the print window did not come down/open. When I went to Print set-up, the print window opened and I was able to verify that the printer shown is correct. I also confirmed that when I go to Control Panel, then to Printers and Faxes that the printer shown is the Canon MP190 Printer and that this printer is the "default " printer and it shows ready with no documents to print. And while I was in there , I clicked on "Troubleshooting Printing", clicked on "printer does not print", then on Ok and got the same error message that I referenced above.



    What Now??

    My sister's printer is a Canon PIXMA MP190 All in one printer.



    Can you tell me how to turn down the security settings in Internet Explorer and maybe what you would recommend turning down? I have no clue.

    The last thing that I knew was that you were going to get me the links to redownload the software for the printer (I sent you the make and model number yesterday) and I also asked you how I would turn down the security settings in Internet Explorer. I'm leaving town soon and I would like to put this printer problem to rest for my sister. Please advise. Also, I'm not sure how to remove the current drivers in her printer, assuming that's what I have to do before I can download new ones. Please advise. Thanks

Ok, first off if the printer is printing from other programs then do these two things to troubleshoot the problem. First go to start>control panel> printers and faxes, make sure the printer is ready and right click and make sure it is set to default. Secondly when you go to file print in internet explorer, make sure when the print windows opens up that next to name in the upper part of the box that it has the printer you are trying to print to.

    when you go to file and print in IE, the print window should definitely open up because that is where you choose how many copies you want etc... Once you make sure the right printer is selected in there then we can continue troubleshooting.

    Ok, what is the exact error message you receive when you try and print? Also I would try and delete the printer and or uninstall the software, disconnect the usb connection and then reinstall the software.

    I only mean the software/drivers for the printer is what you need to reinstall from your original post it sounds like you downloaded them, if you need the links to redownload the software for the printer please verify the make and model and i can provide you with a link. You may also want to turn down the security settings in internet explorer as well.

You must visit the support section of Lexmark's website. There you can enter you make and model. Once done you will be offered the ability to download drivers and software for your printer.

1-go to start control panel 2-click on printer 3-click on add new printer 4-follow the instructions 5-place cd with printer drivers inside computer install drivers 6-if you do not have drivers go to www.dell.com 7-go to support enter your printer model they will give you the drivers to download

My mom's hp officejet T45 printer now prints gibberish. It started after my sister installed a new ink cartridge for her. Because her documents were printing nothing but a solid black line then, my...


Gibberish sounds to me that ether one of two things is going on.

1. the printer was never allighned when the new cartridges where put in.

2. Depending on the gibberish its printing it could be a communication error with the driver on the computer.

Do not pitch the printer but get help for it like you are doing now! But I would have taken a chat from us to see what the gibberish is!

you don't have the legitimate serial key fo rth Windows XP.
sorry we don't porived help for cracking the serial number.
you just have to work with sp3. without any updates.

Generally most of All-in-one printera of Lexmark not compatible with Vista.
Is your Vista 64 bit? Then certainly not work.
First remove the driver from the device manager, Start --> Type in --> devmgmt.msc
It will open window where you can locate printer driver, remove them and then insall the new one.

Need driver for lexmark8300 all in one. It is refusing to print with new pc and I cannot locate original cd for installtion. Please help I already payed 9.99 for a response.


Went to Lexmark8350 and got 8300 .printer series and downloaded from CJb8300EN.exe and downloaded driver. Printer is working just great.
