First thing I would do is isolate if its a problem with the reader or the computer, so try and plug it in to a different computer and see if it gets recognized then.
Thank you,
Lee

I am assuming you got this from a ritz store/online. This is what is referred to as a "store brand". So you would want to contact who you purchased it from. Given how cheap these are, I would consider looking for a replacement from a reputable manufacturer. I didn't get any feedback from you on my original questions. If you have isolated the problem to the reader then either contact them to try and get it repaired/replaced under warranty or purchase a new one for about 10$. Please take the time to accept/rate my solution accordingly.
    Thank you,
    Lee

Hi Christina.

Test the card reader on a different computer, if the card reader works, try disconnecting computer power cord for ten minutes, so to drain power completely. If the computer is a laptop, also take out the battery while power is off.

If that does not help, then if problem happened recently do a system restore to a recent date before the problem started.

If your computer is not recognizing the reader, then you will want to download the drivers. You can get them free from the reader's website. Once you find the file, download it, once file is downloaded, then double-click the downloaded file and it will install itself into your pc. After it is installed, reboot pc and it should now recognize your device.

When I plug in my reader card, my computer is not recognizing it.

My computer has started this as well. I think it's reader is worn out, so I got a USB card reader that was cheap and put the card into that reader that was plugged into my USB port. Reads my card now. So I guess I need a card reader repair. Perhaps you do too.

If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. SD card not recognized

What happens when you tried to plug-in SD card to the computer?

Have you made any recent changes to the computer prior to the issue?

To make the SDHC be recognized by the computer, we need to ensure that the card reader works in Windows 7 first. Please check if the card reader is recognized properly by the computer and you have installed the driver for it.

Meanwhile, you can plug some other storage cards to the card reader and see how it works.

I would suggest you to refer the link below

Acer aspire t 180 cant get pc to recognize digital camera photo memory card

Has the computer recognized the memory card in the past? If so, try download and reinstalling the memory card driver.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Card Reader drivers.

If after installing the drivers the reader still does not work, you can purchase a multi format card reader that will plug into you usb port from Tiger Direct for less than $15. at

http://www.tigerdirect.com

When the site comes up just put in the search at the top "SD Card Reader or XD Card Reader" depending you your type and press GO. You can sort the returned results by Price Low to High.

Do you have a USB Cable that came with the camera that you can plug into one of the usb ports on the computer? If so, try that. It's another way of getting pictures off the camera. Plug the cable on the camera and into the computer then turn the camera on. The computer will recognize the camera and install the drivers. You can navigate through the camera folders just like you do any other device to find the pictures.

How do i download pictures from a verizon lg cellphone

There are a number of ways to do it. 1) you can use a cable that plugs into the camera and the other end of the cable plugs into the usb port of the computer. Most camera's come with this cable, if not it's a pretty common cable to purchase for less than $10.00. Once you plug it into both the camera and the computer, turn the camera on and the computer will recognize the usb camera device. You'll have to navigate to where your pictures are but that should be easy just open the folders until you find them. 2) you can buy a usb card reader than handles different types of cards. Remove the card from the camera and place it in the card reader device. Once again your computer will recognize the usb card reader and you can navigate thru the folders to find your pictures. 3) You can email them to yourself then go to the computer and open your emails and save the pictures.

How do i downlowed pictures it's not letting me

There are two way to upload your video's to your pc:

  1. You can upload video to the use of your camcorder connector. Connect your USB cable to your camcorder and plug it to your computer. You need to turn on your camcorder so that it will be recognized by the computer.
  2. You can upload also your video's with the use of memory card reader. Remove your memory card from your camcorder and insert it to the card reader. Plug the card reader to the computer. The computer will recognized the card. Now you can upload your photo's or video's.
Good luck!

I got a big computer and a little disk.

You can buy memory card readers very cheap. Ebay is a good source. Just look for a reader for your card model. I use a USB reader, which is very convenient. If you have XP or later operating system it probably will recognize the reader with no software when you plug it into a USB slot. then you just take the card out of your camera and put it in the reader. You may need to have the card in the reader for the reader to be recognized, try it either way.
