You mention that a switch is broken? I am assuming that you mean the power switch for the monitor? If so, then you can probably get the manufacturer and model, look it up on the web and order a new knob or switch from manufacturer. If this is not an option, then you will probably have to take the monitor apart to see what part of your substitute button is not touching, b/c what a button does it activate a special area on a circuit board that connects or disconnects power to its specificed area (where the button is sitting)
Could be a power supply issue. Maybe it's not getting enough voltage from the power supply unit.
Could also be some bad solder points on the circuit board, or maybe a burnt capaciter.
if it is completely shaking then problem is in power supply filter ckt.
1 please check main filter capacitor.
2 check bridge rectifier diode for open.
3 loose connector in power supply.
But if it is shaking on top then check for horizontal oscillator section.
if you are not rech. person take the help of skilled tech.
good luck.
I'm assuming that you mean the green indicator light is not on. This could be caused by a host of problems. Assuming that you know the AC receptacle is live by testing with a standard light the next step would be to unplug the unit and remove the back. Check the fuse for continuity. If the fuse is good you have a problem with the power supply or a short which is keeping the power supply from powering up. The most likely culprit is the Horizontal Output Transistor. Unless you are an electronic tech and know how to check this you probably need to take the unit to a shop for further diagnostics and repair.
