Question about Marantz Audio Players & Recorders
Some people thing that changing belts is the answer to all things. It is not. Wow and flutter can be caused by bad belts, lack of lubrication, improper take up torque from a bad reel table or slip clutch and defective back tension methods. Why do people change a belt and sometimes even install a belt too tight and expect miracles? I don't know why. Maybe the same reason they will go to the effort to change a belt and be seconds away from pulling the flywheel out to oil it and never do. Do It Your selfers need to talk to seasoned Technicians and become educated as well as have the right equipment to do and measure the result. The answer sits at the bench of your nearest seasoned Technician.
