Yes you want to not have the printer hooked up to the computer when you install the drivers. This is because it is USB, and reduces the chance of their being a conflict when installing the drivers. Here is a link to download the drivers. Select your operating system, then your language and you can download the software and drivers that need to be installed. Also if you feel so inclined, the firmware can be updated on this printer as well to resolve issues. That is located in the downloads section of this page as well.
