Question about GE Profile Arctica 25.4 Cubic Feet Side-By-Side Refrigerator With Dispenser PSS25MGMWW

1 Answer

I have a GE Arctica Side by side and water is leaking out from under the freezer side of it? The ice dispenser and water dispenser are fine, but water is leaking a big puddle out of the bottom. No water inside freezer. What should I do?

OK, I did that and it drained fine. I have isolated the problem. On the left hand side on the back of the refrigerator there is a little blue water reservoir or tube that leads to a piece that has a red and blue connection on the top. In the bottom of that connector piece there are two pin holes from corrosion. I'm a female so I really have no idea what to call that piece to order a new one. Is this something that I can replace on my own? What do I call that piece?

The evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the back of the freezer.

GE Profile Arctica PSS25SGNA BS Icemaker is not working seems to be filling with water but no ice.

The water dispenser and ice maker side run separate sides of the water control valve. Fill ice maker with tap water and let it freeze. If it dumps the ice then does not refill then the water control valve is the problem. I will be back soon with a photo and some links, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Not getting water from dispenser in door

The connector that is leaking is bad causing tubing to come out and leak. The reason it won't flow is it is iced up inside of the door and no, unfortunately, you can't disassemble the door to get to it. It requires a door replacement. The connector is part number WR02X10471 from www.geappliances.com or GE Factory Service Parts at 1-800-626-2002
