SOURCE: KUDS25SHWH1 Kitchenaid Dishwasher Control Panel Only CANCEL light on

I bought a control board for $127.00 figuring that was the problem but it wasn't. I called an appliance guy who came out and said its the touchpad that needs to be replaced. I ordered the touchpad ($325) since I already have to much invested in this dishwasher. I paid $1200 for it 8 years ago and its really a great dishwasher. My appliance confirmed that if it was the fuse-ling that you would not have any lights on.

SOURCE: dishwasher powers up when switched

Hi mcdoddle,

I'm Harvey the master Plumber.

Your problem is: dishwasher powers up when switched on via control panel. When start is selected, the lights indicate wash but nothing happens. This may sound stupid but first make sure no one turned the water off to the d/w. If OK then you likely have a clogged or failed solanoid valve. The d/w must be removed for replacement. I don't recomend this for the average homeowner. You might consider utilizing our Repair Directory to find a repairman.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid Dishwasher Control Panel lights - some don't light up

The problem is the control panel. You may have to shut the power off for a few seconds to reset the control board, then check to see if it works. If not, the control board has a break in the wiring or the keypad is no good.

I cant get my dishwasher to start

Defective Door Switch? The next thing that could be causing your dishwasher to not start could be the door switch. This door switch is also sometimes called a door lock or door interlock switch. This switch is a safety feature and makes it so the dishwasher will not run if the door is open. If your dishwasher won't start, then it is possible this switch is bad. This switch is located inside the door panel. To determine if the door switch is bad, remove the control panel, locate the door switch, and test it for continuity.
Blown Thermal Fuse?Another part in your dishwasher that could be causing it to not start could be the thermal fuse. This fuse is designed to blow if the dishwasher overheats. If this fuse blows, it will need to be removed and replaced to make your dishwasher work. Most dishwashers have the thermal fuse located in the control panel area. To determine if the thermal fuse is bad, remove the control panel, locate the fuse, and test it for continuity.
Broken Door Latch? The part that holds your dishwasher door shut is called a door latch. 99% of the time this latch is made from plastic. If this latch becomes broken or cracked, it will prevent your door from closing properly. To determine if your door latch is bad, inspect your dishwasher door and be sure the latch is not broken.
Defective Main Control Board? The control board in your dishwasher supplies power to all components. If your dishwasher won't start, this could mean that the board is bad. If you have tested and confirmed working all the other steps above, then the control board in your dishwasher is most likely bad and replacing it would be a smart option at this point.

Kitchenaide dishwasher KUDS25SHBS1

I have listed COMMON problems / reasons why a dishwasher won't start..
The thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work. The thermal fuse is usually located in the control panel on the control board or mounted to the bottom of the tank behind the lower panel. The thermal fuse can be checked for continuity.
The door switch, or switches, are sometimes called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches, remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model. They can be tested for continuity.
If the dishwasher does not start, the door latch assembly might be defective. These are normally made of plastic and cannot be repaired. If the door won't latch and the door latch is broken, replace it.
The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher won't start the main control board might be defective. You should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.

Sears model 665 ultra dishwasher has no power, breaker not blown but nothing works,no lights nothing

There is a thermal fuse located in the control panel that is probably blown out.
Open the control panel by removing the 6 screws around the top inside of the door. The thermal fuse is located on the top right side. Remove the wires from the fuse. Use a volt neter set for continuity to test the fuse. No reading is a bad fuse.
This link will show the fuse.
