Half the screen is distorted on my television ... Sometimes the half shade clears up a little but it remains there regardless of what input I am using ... Someone please help me

Check for loose contacts in power outlet, RC cable, jack and socket.
In order to ensure, it is not caused by the input device, connect a DVD player and see.

Panasonic plasma TH-42pz700 has left hand side of screen distorted

The set uses two boards to drive the screen --one for each half or side.

Different names are used like sustain or in LCD sets inverter.

Download philips latest firmware here: Click sometimes glitches can be cleared with their firmware. Also this could be a sign that your vertical buffer drivers are over-heating due to a faulty Y-sustain problem. The best way to check is to remove the back cover turn the TV on and see which buffer IC is getting red hot by touching it. Be careful as the voltage levels are dangerous, get someone who's technically proficient to do that little test for you....

Sony Bravia LCD half screen is darker shade sometimes

Magnetic fields don't affect lcd screens, unlike crt tvs where a magnet can cause problems. If it is only a slight difference i have seen this before even on my tv. if you go to a blank screen you can see patches of light and dark, they call this bruising, i have talked to sony engineers about this but i have not got a straight answer as to what makes this happen, if the tv is in warranty a tech will replace the panel, if it is not in warranty it is not cost effective to replace. But the good news is that is does not seem to get any worse with time, it is more of a manufacturing defect that most will not notice. Look at the tv with dark blank screen and you may see areas where the screen is lighter than the other. If you see this than you have this issue. it will fade off and will not be a stark line. Also I noticed that there is a software update for your television go to www.sony.com to get a download of the software, or sony will send it to you free of charge.

top half, bottom half, half size, where is half size located on screen, what is the source for the signal ie; antennae, cable box, dvd player?, and is it a problem regardless of input source?

Hi,
I need model number and brand info of tv to diagnose possible cause of problem, model number and brand would be written on sticker pasted at back of tv.

OK, its LG 50PQ30-UA plasma tv
Problem seems with flexible wires coming from plasma panel in drive boards and I suspect clogged terminals or lose connections on these flexible wires.
Visual check by tv repairman is required to fix the issue because it needs expertise and it is not user level repair.
If any drive board connector found bad then it will be replaced and these are available in Shop Jimmy.
Please call your local tv repair shop to come out for check.
