Question about Toshiba Satellite M55-S135 Notebook

1 Answer

I droped my satelite M55-S135 and the fan quit working now it is overheating after a few minutes of use. I am trying to take it apart and am haveing a problem getting it apart. I took all the screws out of the bottom and back side. I can get it apart on all four sides but it seems that something around the keyboard is holding it together. Any help would be great.

Hello,

The ialmnt5.sys file is a driver file for video cards. The best solution in this case is to reinstall the video driver.

Go to the manufacturer's support website to download the latest drivers for your device.

Here is the link for your laptop drivers : Satellite M55-S135 drivers.

Make sure to select the correct OS version to get compatible and working drivers.

Hope this helps.

If it is the Windows password, try downloading ERD Commander. It has a utility called locksmith that you can use to change the password or set it to nothing.

Loud cooling fan can it be fixed or replaced?

If the fan is unacceptably loud, first try to blow out the dirt with compressed air.
The fan cannot be fixed, as it might have a bad bushing or bearings. The fans are easy to replace. Easy is a relative term, of course--in a laptop/notebook computer, the challenge is taking it apart to get to the fan.

How can chang my vga card for m55-s135

Unfortunately your video card on the M55 is part of the motherboard itself...it is an integrated chip. You would have to take it to a repair shop that has the machine capable of desoldering all the connections and resoldering a new graphics chip to the board. Buying a new motherboard may end up cheaper in the long run, but I have seen repair adds on EBay from companies that specialize in these types of repairs. Give it a look and see what you think.

Overheated

if it doesn't shut off the laptop or anything than this is not a problem.. but if you want to fix it, you need to take it apart and put a bigger fan in it.
