the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

My laptop is telling me i have an error 0141

The Dell error code 0141 is a hardware related error which appears when you first load your Dell computer. The error that normally appears will have the error code "2000-0141? and will relate to the hard drive components of your computer. This error generally shows even though there might not be anything wrong with your PC.

  • Corrupt or damaged Windows processes
  • Damaged registry settings on your system
  • A computer infected with viruses or malware
Update your antivirus and rescan your computer. If is showing again you have to re-install the OS

I assume your new computer has IDE controller on the motherboard.
Yes you can install your old hard drive into your new computer as a Slave hard drive.
If the old hard drive is installed on the 2nd IDE controller and it is the only device on the controller then the jumper and be master or slave, but connect the hard drive at the last connector on the IDE cable.

Unable to restore back to factory image read error

Are you using Factory CD/DVD or Made from utlity Disks or from hard drive utility option.
This seems to be a CD read error.
I found the same error code need help for posted for HP, Compaq, Gateway, ETC.
ALL new setups with the MAKE RECOVERY DISK UTILITY and NO factory disks.
Factory recovery disks are available for $60 and up from manufacturers.
Other option is Install Retail OS - get drivers from manufacturer - Install software you want to use.
Other option is expensive but reliable.
Factory option would be for your system only.

Hard drive not seen in dell latitude d600 after upgrade to vista

Your hard drive may need reseating.
If it still gives error hard disk not found then you have a faulty hard drive.
You need a new hard drive and then install Windows Vista

Computer not booting up

What are the service lights doing on the back of the PC, two green two yellow, should be something to this affect,4 lights. Try your install again and see what the lights are doing when the error appears. Now take your service tag and go to dell.com.
and see what the error lights means.

Remember Xp is the only operating system that can be run on this pc.

If it was a hard drive problem, the last thing you do is try to install a OS, you get a hard drive diagnostic disk from dell, or get HDD regenerator
1.5.1, its free, it checks the hard drive for bad sectors and can repair them,so you can get your important info off of them, because if it had bad sectors, the problem will just come back. So its better to get a new one.

Dell c640 laptop

Hrmm be nice huh, lets see, First you have to rip it all apart, kidding =)
I will assume you have been using this laptop prior to this happening.

Your computer is telling you it cannot find anything to start loading Windows etc
This is normally on your hard drive. If your hard drive fails or the system cannot find it, then it will give this message.
You can also use the CDrom to boot, but this is what you would use if there was a new hard drive without Windows installed.

This page will show you and give you full instructions on how to remove the hard drive. After you find it, do not remove it all the way, just slide it out an inch or so and then just slide it back in and put the screw back in.

Turn the laptop back on and see if that fixes the problem, sometimes they just need to be reseated.

Post bak your results and if it is still doing nothing we can try more things.
