No. TV channels sometimes put antipiracy signals in their programs to block their recording. You can't bypass that.

Testimonial: "my dvd player dont want to read the dvd. it says there isno disk in. must i reset my machine to record a programme from the tv to vhs"

  • Azrael SRL Sep 01, 2010

That is caused by dirt on the laser lens of the dvd. Use a special cleaning disc - you can find one very cheaply in all electronics shops. In the mean time yes, set your unit to record on the vhs..

You can't. There's a chip inside that prevents a copyrighted program form being recorded.

Having trouble recording TV broadcast to DVD?

My LG DVD recorder was unreliable when recording TV broadcasts to "standard" DVD disks. Frequently it would begin recording a show and then stop with a copyright error message during some commercial. I rarely got a complete show. Very frustrating!

Solution: Buy some DVD-RAM disks and this machine will become totally reliable. They are hard to find and a little more expensive than +RW or -RW. Because of the copyright programming on this machine only DVD-RAM disks will work in VR (Video Recorder) mode.

Can record on DVD disc will not play on DVD player

Make sure the materials you're trying to record onto the DVD
is not Copyrighted. Try to record a normal TV program onto your
VHS, transfer it to your DVD and then play it. See if that will
work. A VHS movie is usually Copyrighted and Protected by
Macrovision. The picture output can be displayed on a TV set
for viewing but is scrambled black to a DVD Recorder.

We recently connected to Direct TV...I want to transfer some old western TV Shows I recorded on my Direct TV DVR Recorder to VCR Tape. I was told by the people at Direct TV that I would need to contact you...

You can try this: Connect your DirecTv to VCR with Red/White/Yellow cables. Then the VCR to your TV with the same type of cables. Make sure the VCR is set to the video input, not the tuner. Turn your TV to the correct video input. Get the program ready on the DVR as if you were going to watch it. Press record on the VCR and then play on the DVR. At the end of the program, press stop on both. You may have a problem with the video recording properly. Some stations broadcast with copyright protection.

Can not convert my vcr video to dvd

hi,
this may be a macrovision issue. you might have to get a "video enhancer" sold on the internet. google "video enhancer". macrovision is a program imbedded in players and recorders so you cant record copyrighted movies and data. Old vcr movies should be okay but you might want to contact the authorities to make sure that its okay before you record anything..

My panasonic dvd recorder was working great and then I had trouble with direct tv and now when I want to record something it gives me a copyright problem? HELP!!!

There is nothing wrong with the player or TV. The programs you are attempting to copy are protected by copyright. Therefore the player will not copy them.

I'm sorry but the TV system is so designed that certain premium and pay-per-view programs carry a signal which instruct the player to not copy them. You should not have any problem copying other free programs.

I cant get go video model #r6740 to be able to be connected to my cable box and still work help please

connect the yellow, white, and red cables from your cable box (output) to the (input 1) connector on the dvd recorder. Then connect the yellow, white, and red cables from your dvd recorder (output) to a (input) on your tv (make a note as to which input on the tv you use). then turn on your tv (set your tv by pressing input, line, or channel down from channel 2 until you see the input you connected your dvd recorder to). then power your dvd recorder on (you should see it on your tv screen), then change the input on your dvd recorder to input 1 (or which ever one you connected your cable box to). Then power on your cable box (now you should see your cable programming on your tv, passing through your dvd recorder). Now you should be all set to watch, and record what ever you want, (however most dvd recorders will not record copyrighted materal, their is a signal transmited ny the owner of the movie, or other content.)
