Question about Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 for PC

Net probleme My internet explorer will not find any web pages. I can successfully ping from DOS, but in Windows, I cannot visit any web sites or check e-mail.

Here are two likely fixes:
1. Go to Control Panel | Internet Options | Connections | LAN Settings
and clear all of the boxes.
2. Re-create the Winsock2 registry entries:
a. Un-install ICS (if installed).
b. Un-install Dial-Up Networking. Don't reboot.
c. Delete registry key HLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2
d. Re-install Dial-Up Networking. Reboot.
e. Re-install ICS (if desired).

I have a dell optiplex gx520,it is hooked up to wireless connection and it's showing that the signal is good,but IE won't let us view webpage......


can you check if have a valild IP address?

1. Start > RUN > type in "cmd"
2. On the command prompt windows (black DOS window),
> type "ipconfig" > hit Enter
> you should have a valid IP address (something like 192.168.x.x)
• if yes, then try to ping a website
• if no, (you should see somthing like 169.254.x.x), check your wireless settings again.
**good signal doesnt mean that you are connected, it could be a conflict with wireless encryptions too..**
3. to perform PING
> on the CMD screen (back DOS based window), type "ping (space) google.com"
> you should see ping statistics, something like "packets sent=4 received=4 lost=0"
• if 0% lost > your connected to the internet
• if 100% lost > you have no connection
> again check your wireless again
4. If you can Ping and you can't still view webpages using IE here's what I suggest
• Optimize your browser
-delete temporary internet files and cookies
4a.1 Open Internet Explorer
4a.2 Click "Tools" (the icon that looks ike a cogwheel / gear; usually at the upper right corner of internet explorer)
4a.3 Click "Internet Options"
4a.3 Click "Delete" under the General Tab Screen
4a.4 Restart Internet Explorer
• Reset Internet Explorer to factory settings
4b.1 Open Internet Explorer
4b.2 Click "Tools" (the icon that looks ike a cogwheel / gear; usually at the upper right corner of internet explorer)
4b.3 Click "Internet Options"

You tried to access a web-page containing some 'js' ("JavaScript") code, but there was an error-condition that arose while interpreting the JS code.

Delete all "Temporary Internet Files".
Close Internet Explorer.
Open Internet Explorer.
Try to access the same web-page that gave you the error-message.

Try accessing that web-page on some other computer, to see if _more_ than one computer has a problem with that web-page.

Can't get to websites that require a log on ; can get on to internet but any place i have to log on and give a password, it says internet explorer cannot display page; can't access email so don't email


got to run then type CMD enter a dos promt will show on the screen, type IPCONFIG, check your IP address if it istarts with 169 then that is APIPA a windows feature if threats are tryin to get in your system blocking any outside access to you system from any network, also check if the default gateway of your router or modem is detected, if not then try check conenction if all are ok from router to modem and if wireless is turned on thr router providing a signal to your computer for wireless, if all Addressess are ok and still you get page cannot be displayed type in the DOS promt ping 69.147.125.65 this is yahoo.com if this pings yahoo's ip address then your problem is with the DNS of your Internet service provider, try this to renew your DNS ipconfig /flushdns then ipconfig /registerdns to renew ur DNS on the systm if still fails ty a different browser and if all else fails call ur ISP provider posibble something on the internet service is wrong or downtime issue on the internet

what you need to do is access this web page with a different web browser one such as Internet Explorer will allow you to view it. The problem is that comcasts web site dose not support firefox so firefox is having trouble handling the display of it. sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,

This article offers five methods that you can try to resolve the issue, and also presents some advanced troubleshooting tips that you can try. Try each method in the order presented until you resolve the issue. If one method does not work, try the next.

This article is intended for a beginning to intermediate computer user. You may find it easier to follow the steps if you print this article first.
Method 1: Disable script debugging loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); If the only sign of a problem is the error message, and Web sites are working, you can probably ignore the error. Also, if the problem only happens on one or two Web pages, it might be a problem with those pages. If you decide to ignore the errors, you can disable script debugging.

Note If this problem occurs on more than one or two sites, do not disable script debugging. Go to method 2 now.

To turn off the Scripting Debugger in Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Disable script debugging check box. and then click OK .
To turn off notification about every script error in Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check box, and then click OK.
Method 2: Test a Web page from another user account, another browser, and another computer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Use another user account, another browser, or another computer to view the Web pages that triggered a script error to determine whether the problem persists. If the script error persists, there may be a problem with the way the Web page is written. You can probably ignore the error and disable script debugging as described in method 1.

If the script error does not occur when you view the Web page from another user account, browser, or computer, the problem may be caused by files or by settings on your computer. Go to method 3 to continue to troubleshoot.
Method 3: Verify that Active Scripting, ActiveX, and Java are not being blocked by Internet Explorer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Active scripting, ActiveX, and Java are all involved in shaping the way information displays on a Web page. If these are blocked on your computer, it may disrupt the display of the Web page. Reset the Internet Explorer security settings to make sure these are not blocked. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
  4. Click Default Level.
  5. Click OK.
Note ActiveX controls and Java programs are turned off at the High security level in Internet Explorer.

Try to open a Web page where you previously received a scripting error. If you do not receive the error, the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, go to Method 4.
Method 4: Remove all the temporary Internet-related files loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Every time that you open a browser to view a Web page, your computer stores a local copy of that Web page in a temporary file. If the size of the temporary Internet files folder becomes too large, some display problems may occur when you open Web pages. Periodically clearing the folder might help resolve the issue.

To remove all the temporary Internet-related files from your computer when you use Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Temporary Internet files, click Settings.
  5. Click Delete Files, and then click OK.
  6. Click Delete Cookies, and then click OK.
  7. Under History, click Clear History, and then click Yes.
  8. Click OK.
To remove all the temporary Internet-related files from your computer when you use Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Browsing History, click Delete, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  5. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Files, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  6. Under Cookies, click Delete Cookies, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  7. Under History, click Delete History, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  8. Click Close, and then click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Try to open a Web page where you previously received a scripting error. If you do not receive the error, the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, go to method 5.
Method 5: Install the latest service pack and software updates for Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7 loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); If you do not have the latest service pack or software upgrades for Internet Explorer 6 or 7, download and install them. They may contain updates that can help resolve the issue.

To install Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

No access to facebook. Cannot ping www.facebook.com, all other web access ok. Is this a DoS attack on Facebook?


No it is not a DoS attack on Facebook. What network are your using is it your own? Has Facebook been blocked perhaps. If you are using Interntet Explorer go to Tool Internet option pick the Secuiryt Tab and Add Facebook as a Trusted site

Laptop wont open web pages


Also, you may try the following:

First, let's try to find if you get to Internet at all.

Click on START and then RUN. In the small window, type cmd and then click OK or press ENTER.
A DOS window wil open and you'll see a blinking cursor.

Type:
ping www.google.com and press ENTER
you should get 4 lines with something like
'Reply from 208.69.32.231: bytes=32 time=90 TTL=52'

If you get
'Reply from 208.69.32.231 time out, it is NOT good.
Then try this:
Type
ping 208.69.32.231 and press ENTER.

Did something change?

Leave this (DOS) window open.


Open START, then Control Panel and then Internet Options.
Click on Second Tab, SECURITY.
You will see 4 icons. All of them should be set to Default Level.
If they are not, set them on Default Level selecting one by one.
(If you are using IE7, than you can click on
'Reset all zones to default level')
Now, go to ADVANCED Tab and click on
'Restore advanced settings'.

Click APPLY and then OK.

Now, go back to DOS window and repeat the 'ping' commands.

Any changes ?

Uable to receive a site


Go to a DOS prompt. Type Ping sony.com. If you get a reply, then your network is good and your internet explorer is either hijacked by a virus or misconfiguered. Go to Start, all programs, accessories, system tools and select Internet Expolorer with no add-ons. If this works and you get a Web page then one of your add-ons is defective. (Turn off Yahoo first). If this doesn't work get a friend to download you a copy of Dr Web and go fight viruses.
