Is this a new watch?? If it is, I would go back to the shop for a replacement.
If its not new, then my suggestion is to try another repair shop. I agree it is risky to try to tighten. Usually requires pounding it the opposite direction it is curved.
Only other suggestion is to send to Movado and that will be costly.
I would honestly check other local watch makers, preferably one that sells Movado.
